Re: Raphinha - Green light for Raph!
Depends on whether Raph was asked if he's good to go...

Re: Raphinha - Green light for Raph!
Anything to do with the unpunished Fernandinho assault at Man City last year by any chance?
Re: Raphinha
Raphinha indicated he needed to come off.
He is struggling fitness wise and yet he is far and away our most creative player.
What happens when his body says "no more" as it inevitably will?

Anyone who read the interview Raph did a while back will know he is hard as nails.
He had a hard start in life and grew up playing effectively street football where you played on if your leg wasnt broken.
So for him to ask to come off as MB said he must be struggling.
So a conundrum now exists.
Do we rest him for his own good and potential long term wellbeing.
Or do we keep patching him up and sending him out there knowing that we practically have no creativity without him but caveat that with the fact thay eventually he will break down most likely and miss longer than he would originally?
Its very difficult but i dont know.

Re: Raphinha- Struggling with fitness 25/9/21
Thing is that these days in the pl, they seem to have an incredible amount of technology available for monitoring injuries and strains, not to mention a shed load of highly qualified fitness staff. Surely they'll be in a perfect position to assess his fitness status and advise Bielsa accordingly. At least you'd hope they wouldCjay wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:41 am Anyone who read the interview Raph did a while back will know he is hard as nails.

Such a shame we are so reliant on one player going forward who consistently scores goals & make assistsCjay wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:41 am Anyone who read the interview Raph did a while back will know he is hard as nails.

Don't help when the opposition constantly want to foul him, and I don't mean a grealish foul either, Rapha was smashed at city last year, he was smashed earlier this year and on saturday by antonio.
He's an excellent player who will be targeted by the bully-boys, if that was ronaldive there would be hell on and an investigation.

Brazilian media reporting that whilst dialogue remains open between the Brazilian national team and clubs at present their is no desire on the Brazilian side to release players before all 3 fixtures have finished.
If that doesnt change Raph will not play vs Southampton and we will therefore create the square root of naff all.

Without any doubt our main attacking threat
How much would we miss Raphinha if unavailable, particularly vs the weaker PL teams?
How does Raphinha compared to our legendary wingers from the past?

Deeper squad, and I'm assuming that's 15M plus per signing, would stop any progression of the U23's everyone seems to want from going ahead..

Eddie gray imho was our best ever winger bar non, we’ve had some decent ones since, and some calamity ones, Rapha still comes in behind Eddie like.

We will be fine without him.
Give Harrison some much needed minutes.

Re: Raphinha
Yes, James/Harrison/Summerville should provide cover till January, when we are buying Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for £8.5m.
Re: Raphinha
Raph earning rave reviews on his Brazil debut.
Completely turned the game around.
Came off the bench, lifted the team, debut assist from a corner and heavily involved in creating the penalty to
And just now he creates another goal and Brazil win 3-1.
He has arrived on the world stage now.
