Leeds top of the pile after £163m world-beating transfer reveal

Some odd numbers here... But also it is a testament to the excellent job MB has done.
Leeds top of the pile after £163m world-beating transfer reveal. It is said that the value of Leeds’ squad has climbed from £79.4million in January to its current £163.2m estimation. That is a rise of £83.8m in just 10 months, higher than any team in Europe’s top five leagues, which also includes sides in Spain’s a Liga, Italy’s Serie A, Germany’s Bundesliga and Frances’s Ligue 1.

Leeds are ahead of second-placed Atalanta and third-placed Fulham, with Granada, Rennes, Sevilla, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Villarreal and Manchester United also making up the top 10.

“As well as big money additions such as Rodrigo (estimated value of £27m) and Diego Llorente (£18m), loyal servants such as Kalvin Phillips have also seen their values rocket under the leadership of Marcelo Bielsa,” the report states. Leeds’ massive valuation rise may be underestimated in one sense, as the club spent spent nearly £100m on new signings in the last window. However, £20m was spent on two 2019-20 loan stars already at the club in Helder Costa and Illan Meslier.

It should also be pointed out that the valuations come in a period in which the transfer market has been significantly affected by the pandemic and the revenue drops experienced at all clubs.
