Was snowing last neet up here in Chester-Le-Street, but has gone this morning, many spruce trees blown down in woods at the back , snapped em in half, mind you, was windy like , and still is.

Woke this morning to find next door’s wheelie bin been blown out of the front of their garden and into the back of my car - which now has a nice big dent in it
Oh no, Cat.

One of our four bins were emptied yesterday which we keep at the at back of our property near the shed.

I purposely wedged the empty green one between our other three full bins in anticipation of the predicted winds.

We also took down our hanging baskets & removed pots & other things around our garden to a secure spot.

It’s been snowing heavily at times over here interspersed with sleet, but hasn’t really lain as yet.

Yellow warning for snow overnight tonight.

Snowed for about 5 minutes maybe, looked like it was going to come on heavy but quickly turned to sleet then rain, the sun eventually broke through late in the afternoon, it's been sub zero most nights and fairly cool in the mornings after daybreak. Some of the backroads that haven't seen the sun have been a wee bit dodgy on the bike

Heavy snow on the way home from work in Doncaster, didn't settle but visibility was poor, didn't stop the knobs from speeding

All in a rush to get home for the weekend, Velo

I suspect many motorists didn't even have their lights on.

Idiots.

becchio bear wrote: Thu Jan 14, 2021 7:38 pm Anyone had a dumping of the white stuff today then?

I got up to a light dusting but with it coming down fast which soon escalated......

Text from the boss saying office closed, woo hooo.

Since then there have been multiple local crashes, cars and lorries abandoned, buses stuck. Still coming down now albeit more lightly than before.

Temperatures set to plummet, I fear an ice rink in the morning.

Setting off a bit earlier to Middleton for our friendly bowls roll up.

Three Hull City season-ticket holders there to wind-up

We' ve had a fair dusting, not enough to stop the traffic mind, it's worse on the moors like where the gritters don't go, bloody nippy this morning at 05.45 I can tell thee.

We don't get gritted out here, because we have no school or other facilities considered important.

We could be six foot under & the council wouldn't bother about us, hence constant flooded roads coming off the fields & loads of potholes.

It'll be alright on the main roads, although much of my journey is though the rural areas, the short-cut way.
