What a difference Costa makes when he actually tries and is motivated, not lazy like he usually is.

Football is simple. When we won the ball on the halfway line we could dominate... All three goals plus Raphs near miss came from this.
Which is why we need to sort out the centre of our side this summer.
If we can then we can be carry a threat consistently.

Can't believe I'm saying this but after his perfomance tonight I have to agree with you

You know what you'll get with Raphinha

Problem is our other wingers are so inconsistent they are up & down like yo-yo's

I did say it would be a case of who could counter better in the second half. Southampton played right into Bielsa's hands by maintaining the press and high line even after major warning signs. Who said we don't have a plan B?

Never in doubt.

Also the tribute to Granny Val's got me a bit misty eyed. What a team.
I can't recall witnessing a team with such togetherness from a Premier League club

All down to Marcelo.

I suspect Ben will be longing to be part of the wonderful comradeship amongst our squad.

Bielsa on Raph after the game, according to the Guardian.

“I can add very little to his game. The best thing you can do with players who are so spontaneous is to let them be themselves.”

Recorded the game due to work . Came in at HT and watched the second half live. Any reason I should go and watch the recording of the first 45 ??

I would, easier to evaluate if you know the result...

Its maybe a confidence thing with Costa. The Arsenal game has hopefully helped. I also think Roberts lacks confidence a lot.

You can enjoy the Saints consternation at the overturned pen and the chalked off goal

Lucky in the first half but that merely redressed the bad luck against Wolves.
Great goals, or at least a great feeling watching them go in.
Great event for us.

I think that Raph's arrival and rise to prominence has given our other wingers a big kick up the backside, though I am starting to believe that it has had an adverse effect on Harrison now that the bar has been set so high for wingers at the club. For some players having Raph as a basis of comparison will either make or break them depending on their mentality. I would start Costa instead of Harrison in the next game - I've never understood why Harrison has to be an automatic starter. It needs to be a meritocracy, and keeping Guardiola happy shouldn't come into it.

No, Jack's a bit of a frustrating player, and it's not as though he hasn't had lots of chances over 2.5 seasons.

Adding to that a few more wins and we could in in Europe. :)
