I didn't bother reading the match thread here today so this is untainted

I thought he was poor so 4/10 for me

The red card wasn't, the foul on Raph at the end every bit as dangerous imo, don't think he got a yellow for that
There was a period where Roberts got barged over from behind, no FK, City break, we win the ball (Philips I think) and again pushed over from behind and again no foul. A bit later a lesser push from behind from one of ours was flagged immediately to give MC a FK in good position

Doubled the added time ... He did his best to give MC every chance to win that

I disagree with most everyone here as far as the Cooper red goes.

That being said, the ref still had a very poor game. Wildly inconsistent, and quite obviously biased toward City.

Seriously. Made sure to give them one more chance at an attack over five minutes in to what was supposed to have been three minutes of stoppage time. Appalling.

Cooper got all of the ball in the tackle but his momentum took him through, certainly not intentional - yellow at best. Not even comparable with Baldock on Roberts last week and nothing given and no VAR intervention then either.
No VAR proof for the potential offside for their goal.
And what about Fernandinha on Raph, very high and utterly cynical and nothing?
Shocking performance from the ref and VAR 0/10 for both.

It's the same thing every week, lazy refereeing, inconsistent refereeing, confusing refereeing plus throw in VAR and the game is slowly going down a slippery slope as far as entertainment and fairness is concerned. How can players be deemed to be gaining advantage by their shoulder being 10cm in front of the nearest defender, just makes no sense and spoiling the spectacle. Surely it's the legs that carry the players forward to gain any advantage so it should be judged by your feet and not shoulders and upper arms etc. Getting to the point where there'll be no celebrating goals in grounds anymore until the obligatory VAR check is done which seems to take forever. Why wasn't Fernandinho's blatant reckless tackle on Rafinha a red card bearing in mind he made no attempt at the ball and deliberately played the man whereas Cooper did play the ball and the man came later. Rant over, I'll give him 2 and not participating in rate the ref anymore. Same comments every week.

A much more dangerous tackle for me and way more cynical .. body checks are plain nasty. Coop got the ball in a 50/50 for me and little about it looked dangerous ...

Another 0 (zero) from me... I can accept Coopers Red, harsh but his studs were high, but so was the ball, so what is a player to do?... The tackle on Raphina by Fernandhina no attempt at the ball played the man at the hip, major red card... the Citeh goal was clearly offside, completely overlooked...and he (the ref) stopped the watch at the end to ensure Citeh got at least one more attack in... To say the Prem is the best league in the world and to accept Sunday league refereeing is getting beyond a joke...
