Sean Dyche

Post by Cjay »

Said some nice things about him earlier.

Clearly done a decent job at Burnley.

The football is appalling but it works for them.

Clearly an inverted snob, look at how he spoke to and treated Bamford.

Why is he mentioning us here?
Bitter Sean?

And just for fun, we are 10th with the 17th most expensive squad.

Burnley are 16th with the 19th most expensive squad.

Whose doing better with what they have Sean? Isnt you.

And

Doesnt paint Dyche in a good light, discrimination is discrimination.

I don't recall him complaining when Burnley were signing Wood, Taylor and BPF and offering Vydra a lot more money than us? :duno:

Dyche has done a great job. And for years people held him up as the example of how it can be done, a club can come up, spend 50 or 100 million, and survive with the big clubs. Pulis, Allardyce, Dyche, Hodgson...they could get a team punching above its weight and grind out results.

And Bielsa has destroyed all the myths they built up, it had to be soul destroying football, it had to involve big lads up front, direct football, rugged centre halves to soak up pressure etc. It's gone. A team largely built on Championship players can actually pass Premier League sides off the park, can have leave pundits open mouthed, can win games by playing football, not destroying it.

If teams are going to try and replicate what Bielsa has done, they'll probably have a rude awakening.

As good as the footy is that we can play, it is underpinned by some pretty crazy fitness levels... that will take for most players a pretty long time to reach.

Lots of teams get off to a flyer playing good footy but suffer a bad defeat, usually away from home against a good side. There comes a test, of the manager. Does he stick to the plan, or does he keep the lads on the pitch at half time, or slag them off to an interviewer on Sky Sports, as Phil Brown and Chris Wilder did.

Brown should have been sacked the very next day. I don't think the Blades won for months after Wilder took aim at the players for getting beat off Leicester.
