I wont comment on his 76 games and 3 goals for us...
.
Former Leeds United man Jon Newsome has told This Is Futbol that the club cannot focus on finishing in the top four next season.
Fellow pundit Dean Windass has claimed in an interview with TIF that the club could qualify for the Champions League next season if Marcelo Bielsa stays at the club and they make the right signings this summer.
Newsome, though, believes that Leeds need to be more realistic as they look to enjoy another excellent season, with the club currently 11th in the Premier League table.
The former Leeds defender believes that the club have to take small steps, and initially look to stay in the Premier League before realigning their goals once that is achieved.
Should the club be safe around Christmas, then they can start to aim higher, but Newsome insists that there is next to no chance of the club finishing in the top four in the 2021/22 campaign.
Speaking exclusively to TIF, the former Whites title winner said: “If you’re in and around Christmas time and you’ve got that number on the board, yeah great, you start looking a little higher.

If we land the right deals this summer, we can move into a top 8 position and I will be happy...that said I think MB will be thinking much higher and a place in Europe...What do you all think?...Me, I already looking forward to it ...
Bielsa has gone on the record already saying we lack the consistency required to compete in Europe, and rightfully so. Those competitions put an enormous strain on a normal squad with all the travel involved. It can completely derail a season if not prepared for correctly. In that sense the pragmatic side of me agrees with Newsome.
However, we do know that Bielsa's ambition isn't to sit safely in mid-table. It's just a question of when, not if, and the when will be when we're competing at a high enough level to earn it. If that happens next season then we'll have earned it. We can assume that he will be playing the same squad against Real Madrid as he played against Spurs if he feels they can compete - and he'll probably be right.
I think Newsome is right.
It may be even tougher next season to stay out of the drop zone.. you know I'm a pessimist !!
But look at Huddersfield and Sheffield United..

Bielsa through and through. The one thing we can't level at MB will be preparing for a game. So for that reason, can we compete adequately on two fronts? I don't know, but it won't be for the lack of preparing by MB and his coaching team and analysts.

Ah yes but.... you are easily pleased H...
So I have been told
So true
In relation to a Champions League spot. We are currently 13 points behind Leicester so that means turning five of our defeats into victories without dropping any points that we've earned. That is a big jump in improvement.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.
