A young Leeds United Under-23s side were defeated 2-1 at the Stadium of Light by Sunderland in the Premier League Cup, in a closely fought encounter, apparently.
Sadly, I missed the game as we were travelling back home from our holiday.

They werent really at it today.
Sunderland lads were quicker to the ball and generally able to get a foot in to dizruot Leeds. Leeds defending was criminal at times.

A tough game tonight. Everton did the U23 double last season. Just realised that this game cannot be shown on LUTV because it clashes with the Arsenal v Palace game.

Leeds double their advantage through Sam Greenwood with a lovely, side-footed volley.
Lewis Bate sprays the ball out wide to Kris Moore who bends a great cross into the penalty area. No hesitation, Greenwood shapes his body to side-foot it beyond the Everton 'keeper Tyrer. Great technique running throughout that goal.
