plus - Dominated the game really with only Maxim being dangerous for Newcastle
negative - Ref missed a stone wall pen which would have been a chance to go 2 up and game over

Positive: Rodrigo back to his best and Summerville debut.
Negative: Firpo... sorry but he can't defend and that miss was embarrassing from a professional footballer. Looks like another Orta disasterclass.

Positive - looked like we were back on form from the first half performance , Summerville debut,
Negative - second half, ran out of ideas, ran out of steam ( does anyone else think we look tired at times?) and Roberts - truly terrible. Finally, Firpo, he’s a real worry. Have we been sold a pup? Very weak tonight and lucky not to be sent off.

+ Newcastle were worse than us.
- They only needed one player to hurt us and we still couldn't stop him.

+ve - Tidy minutes from Summerville. Didn't look out of depth.
-ve - woeful finishing by all concerned. Even Rapha's goal was a cross.

Didn’t see the 1st half so judged on the 2nd only:
+ never looked in trouble apart from 1 sharp save by Meslier from San Maximan
- didn’t created a decent scoring chance against a relegation standard team

Echo.
Btw, why didn't we go for SMax......hmmmm maybe he's not a winger, clueless recruitment.
Cheers Bielsa

+ Summerville very comfortable at this level.

Positive: Should have won by a couple of goals
Negative: Newcastle could have won by a couple of goals

Hoorah, Summerville gets a run out.
Roberts. Sorry lad you had the odd good game in the Championship. Must be related to the manager in some way.

+ That's the best we've played this season
- You have to consider the weakness of the opposition and the fact we couldn't put them to bed

Re: Positives & Negatives v Newcastle (one of each please)
The stark truth is we should have won that game, the players, Bielsa and every fan knows it. The positive is we didn’t lose. The game was end to end in the 2nd half and it could have gone either way.
When the game started and for about the next 25-30 mins Newcastle effectively sat in their own half looking to soak up pressure and try and catch us the on the break We looked very comfortable and in control. Ironically we often struggle to create chances in games of this nature but we were very penetrative and should have taken advantage. The finishing was my biggest disappointment. Klich was having a shocker in front of goal. As a result he was still trying to make amends when he had opportunities to square it and create a better opportunity for a team mate.
There is no doubt we miss a cool clinical head at times.
I have mentioned before that PB struggles in games where the opposition sit back and deny space. He just does not have the guile or physicality of a top class striker. Don’t get me wrong he can be deadly on the counter and given space he shines.
It is in these games that you often need a bit of brilliance from midfield. Again we do not really have that type of player who can glide past someone, and play a killer ball. Grealish / Foden / Zaha / Fernandez are classic example’s. But we don’t have 60 million plus or the league stature to get such a player.
We predominantly rely on Raph or JH for a bit of magic. Which is by no means ideal.
Eze was the one player I hoped we would go for when we got promoted. He was an affordable right type of player. But this is where the management decide their positional priorities.
Robert’s was perhaps seen as having enough potential to fulfill that role. For whatever reason his decision making, whether it is through a lack of intelligence or composure, is still poor. He is decent enough on the ball but time is running out for him for it to click. I had high hopes for him this season but having watched him more often than not play speculative nowhere balls I can understand the flak he is getting. Having said that I still hold plenty of hope even though it is diminishing bit by bit.

+ 3 points on the board at last.
- Bamford with a great chance to get his seasons tally underway, but not with that lame attempt.
I missed the entire game working until midnight, so ta very much for the match comments.

+ve We'll be keeping Raph next season as no one will be keen to sign him based on the last few games.
