Meslier 7: Kept it 1-1 with at least 2 good saves.

Dallas 3: Looks woefully short in so many ways at the moment. He's not the only one.

Ayling 5: Some ok stuff in possession but mostly poor from Bill at the minute. A mistake waiting to happen and it nearly did with the header at the end.

Cooper 5: If Coops had pace he would have been a top top defender. Got skinned a few times but a couple of very good last ditch challenges at the end there.

Firpo 4: Covid? A couple of good breaks, one where he puts it on a plate for Raph, but christ the rumours about his defending could be true, his close ball control looks atrocious so far.

Phillips 7: Tried his best again, our best outfield player without dictating like last season yet. Its been said, if Kalvin gets injured God help us at the minute.

Klich 5: Better with Klich in there but still not enough creativity after the first 15mins.

Rodrigo 6: Better game although i didn't quite see the Jamie Carragher love in first half. I think JC got carried away with Rod jumping over the ball. Better but imo still not good enough.

Raphinha 5: Extra point for the flukey goal, a couple of moments but nothing match winning. Disappointed with Raph so far in the games i have seen. If he was full of confidence he scores that early chance.

James 4: One to forget for Dan on his debut. Looked a bit overawed or underwhelmed time will tell which.

Bamford 3: Its just not falling for Pads at the minute and he looks terrible for it.

subs

Roberts 3: Didn't see anything that convinced me otherwise. Not a game changer still.

Summerville 5: A couple of decent touches. Its hard coming in at the moment as we have seen with James.

Meslier 7 - Some great stops

Dallas 6 - Not the best start to the season. Hardly ever see him in and around the box these days. Not his fault.

Ayling 6 - Struggled at times. Kept on his toes when defending.

Cooper 6 - Some good tackles. Like Ayling, barely coped with Maxim at times.

Firpo 4 - Looked very average and clumsy in the tackle. Offering nothing Alioski couldn't so far.

Phillips 6 - Some nice passes as usual but also a fair few poorly executed ones.

Klich 5 - Average start to the season. Think he is either going to go one of two ways now and I think he may lose his place again eventually. Shooting was dreadful when the opportunity arose.

Rodrigo 7 - Looked lively and up for it and worked hard.

Raphina 7 - Pretty average so far, missed a sitter and should've done better a number of times in their box.

James 5 - Very low key start but most things seemed to be going down the other side first half. Never really unleashed.

Bamford 4 - Does look slow at times. Seems to be right back in barn door mode at the moment.

Subs

Roberts 3 - Sick of the sight of him and feel like switching over when I see him coming on. Runs around but final passes, crosses and shots are terrible. Can't understand why he got a new contract. About as dangerous as a money spider.

Summerville 5 - Not a bad start but saw very little of the ball tbf. Happy when I saw the bench and thought finally one of our youngsters might get a chance.

Meslier - 8. Safe pair of hands. Pulled off two stunning saves

Dallas - 4. A shadow of last season

Ayling - 5. Slightly better than Dallas

Cooper - 4. Made a World class tackle in the second half, but mostly came out second best against the impressive Saint Max. Lacked any kind of Captaincy

Firpo - 2. Hands up, who underestimated Alioski?

Phillips - 8. Solid and dependable

Klich - 7. Had enough long range shots to put the keeper under more pressure. Busy in midfield, without influencing it too much

Rodrigo - 8. Influential, and was a leader on the pitch. The only player to make things happen. Great dummy for the goal.

Raphinha - 7. Fluke of a goal. Some nice touches

James - 6. Got dispossessed too easily

Bamford - 4. Marked out of the game

Subs.

Roberts - 6. Ok

Summerville - 6. Timid. Didn't want to make any mistakes so was ultra safe

Shackleton - 6. Needs more game time

Bielsa - 5. When you know what your opponent is going to do, its easy to outsmart them, a Millwall fan could. Our fan relies heavily on our wing backs. Unfortunately Ayling, Firpo and Dallas have been awful this season but Bielsa prefers to pick his favourites instead of the players in form.
