Crazy mate.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 1:53 pm Absolutely ridiculously priced for a friendly.
Seriously, what are they thinking ?
Manure's first team v a LUFC championship side, although the transfer window doesn't close until the end of August, so some of our saleable assets may play in our first few championship matches.

I’m sure a couple of our lot may go, although nothing has popped up in the WhatsApp group at the moment.
Must admit, I sort of half fancied it myself, but out of principle I ain’t paying that.

Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
£79 is the price of a pint in Oslo isnt it?
Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
Paying 79 quid to watch Leeds get battered in a foreign country against our so-called arch rivals is madness in the extreme, the rivalry began in the sixties when both teams were on a similar footing, since that time Leeds have not even been in the same league most of the time, let alone compete with them for trophies, I hate them with a passion has much as any Leeds fan, but the imaginary fallacy that Leeds are still on their radar as serious rivals needs putting to bed. City, Liverpool, are their main rivals. Leeds are in name only, I'm afraid.
Reality needs to dawn on many fans that we are both living on our name and in the past, because without multi-billionaire owners walking in through the door at Elland Road with the ambition to win trophies, this club is not going to trouble the likes of them or any of the top clubs in the Premier League in this day and age.

Accommodation, restaurants, bars are expensive in Norway.
Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
Definitely not cheap, OB
Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
Must be 2 of the best supported teams in Norway along with Liverpool. I know there is a strong membership out there and to watch Leeds and mu on their own door step will be worth it for many. I'm sure most of them pay alot more travelling to Leeds thru the season. Great move by the club announced by a geezer i've never heard of apparently.geronimo wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 3:05 pm Paying 79 quid to watch Leeds get battered in a foreign country against our so-called arch rivals is madness in the extreme, the rivalry began in the sixties when both teams were on a similar footing, since that time Leeds have not even been in the same league most of the time, let alone compete with them for trophies, I hate them with a passion has much as any Leeds fan, but the imaginary fallacy that Leeds are still on their radar as serious rivals needs putting to bed. The Leeds United Supporters Club of Scandinavia (LUSCOS) has over 8,000 members, many of whom regularly travel over to England to see Leeds United play at home and away.Leeds1000 wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 3:29 pm Must be 2 of the best supported teams in Norway along with Liverpool. Travelled with two Norwegians to away games when we were in the Championship/League One.

i agree leeds have a very strong following in norway and to many it will be a far easier game to get to instead of travelling to england , but man utds following worldwide is far bigger , i remember the pre season tour of australia where their following dwarfed what leeds had over there , but many are glory hunters who are just attracted by successful sides .1964white wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 4:15 pm The Leeds United Supporters Club of Scandinavia (LUSCOS) has over 8,000 members, many of whom regularly travel over to England to see Leeds United play at home and away.

to make a more valid comparison , leeds played man utd in an fa cup semi final at hillsbrough in 1977 , i was a 12 year old at the time and vividly remember leeds having the kop end at end at hillsbrough, and man utd having virtually three sides of the ground . i can remember their away followings in the mid seventies where 15-20,000 travelling away was a regular occurence under docherty .
in this day and age i would say leeds certainly have best away following , but attendances do not lie over a fifty year period , and they still attract more fans than any other club in the country , regardless of success or not
Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
Its impressive isn't it to say we have been crap for so long. And obviously they know Haaland is Leeds.1964white wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 4:15 pm The Leeds United Supporters Club of Scandinavia (LUSCOS) has over 8,000 members, many of whom regularly travel over to England to see Leeds United play at home and away.

Re: Friendly vs Scum announced.
