Was exciting when Rohit Sharma was batting. Bit boring now.

Kohli gone. The silence is deafening.

Seemed India were poised for a big total while he was there. They look in a bit of trouble now.

I really think that was a tame dismissal for Kohli. Pretty poor from "the greatest one day batter of all time" [based on an article from the Beeb this week]

Two of the most dislikeable sides in world cricket, that said, I'd prefer Australia to win it.

India struggling now to get the next man out and the wicket will only get slower.

Not a fan of the game, really, but I woke up around 4:30 a.m. and it was on the television, so I watched. Have to say I enjoyed it.

Travis Head was brilliant both at bat (if that's the proper term) and in the field. Australia's bowlers were also very impressive.

Congratulations to the Aussies.

I think I got satisfaction out of seeing the Indian fans lose.

Every cricket forum on facebook gets taking over by Indians claiming "India is the best ... blah blah blah" It might be a post about something Botham did in the late 70's. But then gets taken over by Indian fans all screaming their team is the best. Gets a bit annoying. So I was glad to see them lose

Plus. For all my dislike for most of the Aussie players - I've always thought Travis Head was a good guy. Pleased to see him take that catch and then get the 100.

Giggle. "At bat" is the baseball term. You'd say "Batted brilliant" or "Was brilliant batting"

He was good to watch today. Put in a great shift all over the field and that was an excellent catch he took. His batting style is interesting. He's kind of plucky. Not a brilliant striker of the ball like some of the other players. But he's got great fight and determination about him. Usually he hits most of his shots against the short ball either square of the wicket or behind the wicket. So it was nice to see a couple of the sixes he hit straighter today.

I can't stand most of the Aussies personally. They're generally known for their bad sportsmanship. There was quite a bit of bad blood in the summer against England. And a couple of their current star players got significant bans a few years back for ball tampering. But Head is one of the players I do like. So I was glad to see that he was the cause of the win - and not Smith or Warner.

I'd have to agree regarding the Indian fans and I've spent a fair bit of time in India. It was good to see them silenced and I can't abide Kholi either!

As a unit the Aussies out thought India and Head played a blinder. England take note.

I have no problem with Indians or India, it being the land of my father. Would have preferred to see them win

6 world titles speaks for itself. Next best Windies , India & England 2 each.

Ya gotta admit The Aussies are the no. 1 cricketing nation.
I think 1 thing that helps us is our Sheffield Shield set up compared to the Counties in England.
A lot less teams and very little imports.

Wasn’t such a sight with an hour to go and India looked like losing. The place was half empty. Shallow fair weather fans.

The Aussies deserved the win. Great tactical bowling and then travis head took the game away in batting.

I dont think they're really the best 1-day team right now (even after winning the WC). They just peaked at the right time in this world cup, while India could not maintain the incredible momentum they'd built.
Very, very seldom does a team win a world cup (any sport) when they start on fire and just keep winning. Sheer statistics point to not being able to maintain it from game 1 to final. (Argentina are another recent example last year).
They had a good 1 day series in India in the early part of the year (lost the test series quite badly though) and then also lost the 1-day series in SA 3-2.
Overall I'd still say India are the best overall cricket nation right now. Australia maybe second?
