Breakfast Debate The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 20th June) Leeds eyeing Red Bull Striker

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning. It's Thursday 20th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Leeds eyeing Red Bull Striker

Leeds are eyeing up a deal with Red Bull Salzburg for their 20yo forward Petar Ratkov, who is currently away on International duty with Serbia at the Euro's. He joined Salzburg last Summer for €5m, penning a five year contract; but twelve months on, the Admiral Bundesliga Runners-up are willing to cash in on him after a steady season after scoring five times in 24 appearances.

Ratkov is a massive unit, he's 6 ft 4', very good in the air and is described as a physically strong and intelligent centre-forward. He would certainly give Daniel Farke options he didn't have last season. Salzburg are looking to recoup £4m from the deal, which has attracted the attention of Rangers.

Leeds set fee for Summerville as interest grows

Leeds will reportedly demand £35m, plus significant add-on fees for the services of Crysencio Summerville this Summer. The 22yo is generating interest from Brighton, Liverpool, Chelsea and Crystal Palace with more clubs expected to come out of the woodwork, after the Seagulls became the first club to show their hand!

£35m would be fantastic business for the Whites, and would go a long way to clear their immediate debts relating to financial fair play. It has been reported that Leeds needed to raise £75m this Summer, but that does not take into account the sales of Tyler Adams (£20m) and Luis Sinisterra (£20m). Summerville has two years left on his Elland Road deal, so sacrificing him makes perfect sense.

O'Hare could be the perfect signing for Leeds - Hutton

Former player turned pundit Alan Hutton has told 'Football Insider' that former team mate Callum O'Hare could be the perfect signing for Leeds this Summer. The 26yo midfielder is out of contract at Coventry City this Summer, and hotly tipped to join the Whites, ahead of a host of Championship and top flight clubs. He started his career at Aston Villa, progressing through their youth ranks, before breaking through to the first team aged just 17. Hutton describes O'Hare as an exciting player, technically gifted, and can also score goals, something sadly missing from the Leeds midfield last season.

He fits the bill that Leeds like, he’s an exciting player. “Especially if they’re going to lose somebody like Summerville or Rutter who could possibly be leaving this summer as well. They’re going to need to bring somebody in to replace these guys. I know Callum O’Hare well, I’ve played alongside him when I was at Villa. He’s very technically gifted, he’s got an eye for a pass and he can score goals, and he’s still at a good age and he’s got experience at this level. “I think that is something Leeds are definitely looking at and he suits them well.

I doubt any buyer of our players will be in a rush to do business with us. Our position is very weak and whilst the Red Bull tie-up might provide a source of squad players, I doubt we will be getting anywhere near the figures being touted about for Summerville and Gray. I think it's going to be yet another window where everything is done late.

Moring EB et all,

Know nothing about Petar Ratkov, but obviously like the name

Summerville is going, hopefully for a rather large bag full of cash, £35m+ sell on and other clauses would be a good deal IMO.

O'Hare is the type of player we've been missing for a few seasons, he's on a free (bonus) let's see how we can c**k this up so that he ends up at Luton then.

Well, he's no use or ornament to us at Elland Road, he'd rather be there, we don't pick up his wages and his career and development has hit the buffers. All good in my humble opinion

Jeez, I hope the RedBull logo isn’t that big on our shirt. It’s offensive.

I'm just so happy that whilst there's as much 'clickbait' around that you could shake a stick at, that DF has muddled thru our shite, is still around Elland Rd, and is currently on the lookout for what he needs,

Instead of some new numpty that wouldn't have a clue.

And all the 'speculation' 'definitely's' 'Hay said so' 'Angus is a tit' 'PM must have known' clickbait shite as well, seems to be well under control with the new gaffer and his bosses that seem to talk and listen to each other.

And hopefully long gone are the days of Coco bursting thru the doors, waving contracts, banging on car park windows phone in hand, whilst in the parlour Radz is counting all his money ready to do one.

The news of imminent transfers outgoing or incoming is supposed to elicit a response from my one eyed trouser snake to soil my undergarment... and the world of football is rife with rumors and speculation, creating a constant buzz that keeps fans on the edge of their seats... with jizz in their pants

However, much of this gossip often leads to nothing but disappointment. Players linked with high-profile moves remain with their current clubs, or the sensational signings never materialize. Remember the fiasco that went on just before we signed Gnonto.

This unending cycle of unfulfilled expectations contributes to a sense of ennui among football enthusiasts who crave real action and definitive outcomes rather than empty speculation.

The perpetual churn of transfer rumors can be exhausting, as fans are bombarded with headlines suggesting dramatic shifts in the football landscape that rarely come to fruition.

Each transfer window is filled with stories of potential deals and behind-the-scenes negotiations, yet the majority of these tales end up being just that—stories. How many deals are aborted on the medical table at Thorpe Arch.

This pattern of anticipation followed by letdown can diminish the excitement that comes with genuine news, leaving supporters feeling jaded and weary of the endless conjecture... and it is also reflected by the lack of engagement, when you are asked to discuss something that might never happen.

Most transfer news is no more based in reality than a Jesse Marsch post match interview... the words form coherent sentences, yet are no more than a figment of frazzled conjecture from a confused mind.

Pretty much spot on 'C', but please don't talk like a Yank if you're English with all these rumours/rumors

They'd better not if they want to sell shirts to fans.

Ratkov doesn't have much of a record. 16 goals in 76 in Serbia. then 5 in 24 in a weak Austrian league. Not clear how many of those were full appearances or sub appearances.

Still, he is young. Maybe there's potential.
