Aaronson seems to be the third winger so I don’t think it makes sense to spend a lot of money on another unless he’s a significant upgrade over Aaronson.

It’s possible we could need depth, but really we have Aaronson, Rutter, Gnonto, James, Piroe, and Bamford to cover four positions. If we have to go with what we have we might still be fine.

Still, one more attacker would make me sleep a little easier. The status quo leaves us particularly vulnerable to injury.

Personally, had he gone out on loan this time last year, and then had him back in January, we might be in the top flight now - small margins...
He was injured at the start of the season. Seemed lengthy and guessing it overlapped the transfer window,

Otherwise I agree.

Summerville was woeful the last 6 or so games for us last season. Almost like once he got the PotY award, he stopped playing. I don't know if he had an attitude problem but a few things already mentioned point to that. I think he was expecting a bigger move tbh but as only WHU bid for him, we cut our losses. As good as he was for most of the season, I don't think we will miss him...

Rolled his ankle early August, out for 3/4 weeks? was it

Joffy was used as a winger in preseason too. Theoretically, James, Gnonto, Aaronson, Rutter, Gelhardt, and Joseph can all play out wide

Kind of depends on what's happening with Gnonto. I'm sure Farke and our DoF's know and are planning accordingly

My take is that any winger we sign now will probably be on the bench. That probably rules out a loan - unless it's a loan that can play multiple positions. Pretty sure any team loaning us a player will not want to see them playing the Jaidon Anthony role.

Anyone we sign now, FB, MC, Wing will probably be for the bench

That's why you don't hand out medals until the race is over

Maybe it was a EFL conspiracy. "Hey. We'll give you this award now if you just ease off a bit."

That did remind me that Farke said he would have been involved if he hadn't been injured. So clearly there never was any intention of him going out on loan.

Geo was out too, as was Paddy IIRC...

I can see Aaronson playing the Jaidon Anthony role. He's not (yet anyway) in the starting 11. I also don't see him really as a winger - he seems better when he can run at defenses directly from the middle.
If we can keep Willie, I'd guess him and James as the starting wingers. If not, we must replace him - Aaronson can't do that.

Unless DF finds the formation to play Pireo as a number 9 as he played at Swansea we need a NEW PROVEN GOAL SCORING NUMBER 9. Just look at how many chances we had on Saturday
