That's why it's important to watch the games back and actually see who did what without the stress of worrying about the result.

That of course is a very good question and one that Farke will ultimately have to answer. My own view is that we could end up with Rutter as the nine, Piroe on the bench and James, Gnonto and Aaronson all starting. Another alternative would see Aaronson alongside Ampedu in midfield and Gruev benched as we did see Brenden play deeper once or twice under Marsch.

Goals & assists from Bogle, and Rothwell has to be a bigger goal threat than Kamara.

Dan, Willy & Aaronson will chip in with several goals.

Gruev was more adventurous in pre-season, also we've been working on set-pieces so expect a few from Pascal & Joe.

And then there is our young No.9 who could be anything, 20 goals would be excellent.

If Jonny signs, another ten goals plus on the cards.
I think we could get 5 or 6 from Struijk this season on corner kicks. Particularly now that we have better coaching in that area.

weasel wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2024 7:26 pm I think we will score more goals than last year too. I also tink the main reason we are stronger or better equipped is that the majority of our players are now proven at this level. Last season we had a lot of players that there were questions about even the likes of Ampadu despite the amount of games he had played. We don't have those questions this season as the only players that aren't experienced championship players are Aaronsen and Wober and it appears that both of them will be squad options initially.

If Aaronsen comes into the team I can see him being the player before the player who gets the assist. Aaronsen making a run, opening up a defence but then laying it off to Rutter or a winger to play the ball in.
I agree. He did a lot of that dirty work in MLS with Philadelphia Union, and he also did that at RB Salzburg.

But I wonder if because of the money we paid for him that will be enough to satisfy Leeds fans??

Only asking face value gor it. Pm me if you would like it.
Been a member here for many years and never sold a ticket before so unsure what to do
Peter, I think you can just email the ticket to whoever buys the ticket member or not. I bought 2 tickets for the Valencia game and emailed them to my mate who isn't a member, he just put them in his Google wallet and I met him inside the ground...he got in no problem......Good luck.

Early last season, Pascal was our leading scorer.

His heigh should be great in the box. But he is very skillful too and should pick up on more loose ball chances.

Appreciate your insight on BA. I know he could play midfield. Only times I've seen it have been as a 3 man midfield, But late in games, looking for a goal, he's definitely an 8.

I agree that he can play the 8 role in a 3 man midfield. And I think he can be very effective in that role. But in a 4-2-3-1 he only fits as a winger/wide player. And for me that puts him on the bench behind Gnonto or James.

It will be very interesting to see how we line up against Pompey tomorrow. We have a lot of options, but I suspect that the Manager will play it safe and go with the 4-2-3-1.

Farke will sensibly introduce both Aaronson and Wober from the bench to allow them to reintegrate steadily and without too much fan pressure. Both will start plenty of matches once that process has played out and anyone thinking otherwise is misjudging the extra quality they have over most Championship players.

Can see Aaronson winning the 8, because it's Gruev who's a holding mid naturally. But don't see Wober getting past our best CB in Struijk or Rodon. Doubt he supplants Ampadu and Firpo is a much much better wing back..

He'll need an injury or for us to go to a 3 man central defence.

The chances of Firpo continuing to stay fit are low you would have thought ?

Also playing three at the back, especially away from home does sound interesting.

They were both booed when brought on against Valencia, the deserters have got a lot to prove to the match going fans.

DF only know Plan A, 4-2-3-1 and bring on a sub after 80 mins even if we were behind after 5 mins. He only got Norwich promoted in a weak division at the time. Has he learnt anything from last season - lets see tomorrow

I view Aaronson a bit differently than Worber. Aaronson left at a time when the club was in utter chaos. No Manager and no Sporting Director. Not sure the ownership change had even been completed yet. He had an option and he took it to go to a Champion's
League club. Worber left it very late after it was clear he was in the Farke's plans.

Now I do agree that Aaronson has a lot to prove on the pitch. But I think the supporters need to cut him a bit of slack. It's not his fault the club paid a ridiculous amount of money for him. Let's see how he does in the Championship.

Bit that bothers me most about Aaronson (apart from being shite when here) was how fast his people leaked his release clause.

The American Athletic journalist leaked it literally within a day or two of our relegation.

Left a really bad taste for me, a complete lack of care or awareness.

And then the desperate transparent pr rebuild job they been doing since it became clear he has no choice but to stay.

Possibly bit unfair to blame Aaronson personally but it didn't sit right how fast it was clearly purposely leaked and now the desperate cringe backtracking been going on this summer.

Anyway he has a heck of a lot to prove, he's probably approaching last chance saloon in Europe so hopefully it motivates him.

Another bad season he's back in the MLS soon enough.

Only thing will say in his favour is I believe he was professional when here, Mckennie and Adams may have been arrogant assholes.

But I think Aaronson wasn't, just a bit shite.

Well, we all seem to forgive Wilie Gnonto after he tried to force a move. And I see that to be more arrogant/petulant than Aaronson's representatives actions. But I do agree that Brenden has much to prove!!

Leeds United Americas is a great group. We do a lot to support the club. You can see the brick we bought about twenty feet in front of the Bremner statue (I took the worst selfie ever while lying on my back next to it).

We're selling t-shirts right now to raise money for charity. Please stop by the site and check them out. They're pretty good looking and they list all the different chapters (St Louis myself).
