49's Watching August 24 Results

Post by Musicman1965 »

Our start to the previous season was not very good by the high standards the 49 ers expect.
We played 4 games through August not including the cup competition and came away with
only 5 points from a possible 12 (DLDW) Hardly a championship contender at the early stages.
Look what we did after, amassing a good points hall that would have seen most sides promoted.
There is massive expectation this season and any repeat of last years faultering start would put DF under huge pressure.
The 49 ers are watching on and like any big football francise in the US, everything is based on results.
Its time for DF to deliver his past experience in this division, get the players working as one and make the right changes if we
are in a position of chasing the game. I have total confidence to DF to deliver, but the 49 ers are about as ruthless as can be.

8 points from 4 games is always acceptable which means we'll need 2 wins from the next 3 matches.

Equates to 92 points for the season and then hope that's enough.

We've got Baggies, Codheads and Windies next three games.

My deluded brain had us beating Portsmouth 4-0 and staying top until the end of the season.

Now reality has kicked in I'm fearing one point from the first four games and kicked out of the cup by Bill and the Smogies tonight.

If we get a good start, see of the Boro and build from there we will be on our way... Its not panic stations yet but the Boro game will show us all where we are as a team... I just hope Meslier has put his extra large gloves on for the match..lol :)

Sack DF NOW. He has no idea. 0-3 at Home to Boro. We need a new and better manager now + LB, Midfielder who scores, LW, Number 9

Personally think the mocking of posters every time they post needs to stop.

Yep, only Sunderland have ever got 90 points in back to back seasons. Personally, I think it will take at least another 5 years before we get promoted.

Behave yourself, everyone mocks everyone else on here, particularly if they set themselves up for a fall, and rightly so.

No malice, no bullying, just leg pulling.

Hopefully they were watching tonight and aren't happy. They need to stop letting a repeated failure Kinnear call all the shots.

We can agree to disagree.

I find the constant "leg pulling" uncomfortable.

It stops being funny when the person is clearly fed up of it.

Compared to most forums, it’s non-existent.

A bit more light-hearted to and fro wouldn’t go amiss, IMHO.

Too many taking themselves too seriously.

We’re not at home to the Polymorph.

Would agree, MOT is one of the more pleasant forums.

And nobody is saying banter or whatever is bad.

But when it's multiple people on one person over and over again that's not a great look imo.

People could just debate his post occasionally instead.

And now tell me wtf a polymorph is?

Feel like I must be very thick as I haven't a clue.

Red Dwarf reference - alien monster which sucks the personality out of its victims. Good episode, worth a look.

I'm assuming it's a Red Dwarf reference.... if not then I have no clue either, etymologically it's a shape shifter. Poly = multiple, Morph = to change shape.
