My point wasn't about what the fans of Everton or the football club think.....
It was a hypothetical question.....Is that what the deal is all about? Naming the stadium Red Bull. Not about who gives a hoot. I have no idea what the deal entails.....

Doesn't mean much and will be worth a pittance really.

It's just another way for Red Bull to market themselves.

Get the name on LED signs and such by the pitch and on water bottles.

Red Bull are "energy partner" of lots of things, did the same deal with Newcastle announced earlier this week.

They are our energy drinks partner thing as well.

It will be worth a few million a year and won't make a ripple in the hundreds of millions of pounds worth of debts Everton have.

If Red Bull wanted to own Everton they would by now, Everton are desperate and Red Bull is even by football ownership standards absolutely loaded.

Bottom line is we need money to compete and by not having a stadium naming right deal we are missing out.

I don’t think anything significant will happen with the stadium, until we have been in the Premier League for at least a couple of seasons.

I’m not convinced we will get the crowds to fill it if we raise the attendance significantly.

It's got to happen though otherwise we're perpetually stuck so the sooner the better.

Red Bull have the money we need to at the very least fund the demolition and rebuild of the West Stand.

From memory I think, like me, you are a season-ticket older. You will know, as well as me, that the stadium is in desperate need of upgrading.

However, if they do spend millions and millions on upgrading (which it will take) and then not fill the stadium (which is no guarantee that they will) then they are a significant of money down on their investment.

Time will tell, but I will be very surprised if they spend significant amounts on the stadium whilst we are in the championship.

Even in the Championship as long as we're competitive we'd likely sell out an increased capacity for Saturday games. Plus once the stadium is developed it increases the value of the club, so it's probably more about having owners who are in it for the long haul as well as the ability to finance and pay for it over the next decade or so. That's where a 20 year stadium naming rights package would play a key role and as fans we should support the development of our club for the future generations.

So the question is are the 49ers in it for the long haul because it's difficult to remember the last owners we had that were.

That depends on the capacity we increased the ground to, of course, but I’m not convinced we will sell out on a consistent basis in the Championship.

We would do it every week in the Premier League though.

You would need to work out the maths and see if a larger ground size that didnt quite sell out ( while still in the Championship ) was still viable and would make at least some small increase in revenue, until we do get promoted, the sooner the better of course.
Its a gamble of sorts, stay as we are now and loose out on plenty of fans who want and cant get tickets now, or take the gamble and hope it pays of.
