Breakfast Debate The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 12th September) Spurs announce intention to reunite Gray brothers

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning. It's Thursday 12th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Spurs announce intention to reunite Gray brothers

Tottenham have informed their Elland Road counterparts that it is their intention to reunite the Gray brothers! The North London heavyweights splashed out £40m on Archie this Summer, and are now desperate to complete the set. The Whites will be keen to keep Harry at Leeds for as long as they can. If they lose his services in the next year of two, the fee will be negligible compared to that as an adult, as is proved by his older brother.

Harry doesn't turn 16 until next month, but is already playing in the U18 Premier League, where he has netted eight goals in 11 appearances. He'll be allowed to sign a scholarship next month, but will have to wait until his 17th birthday to sign professional terms, and even then he'll be restricted to two years! Spurs face competition from the likes of Newcastle Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Wober to join galatasaray?

In an unexpected twist, Leeds outcast Max Wober could leave Elland Road, and join Turkish giants galatasaray. According to Turkish media outlet 'Takvim', Adbulkerim Bardakci is keen to add reinforcements to his squad following a poor start to the season. Their transfer window is still open, allowing them to sign players even though in England it closed almost a fortnight ago.

The Super Lig outfit want to take Wober on a season long loan, and have the option to make the move permanent for a fee in region of €10m (£8.4m). It's fair to say Austrian International Wober has not made many friends since arriving at Elland Road nearly two years ago, but can't imagine his status or that of the 49ers even for considering the move, after what happened 24 years ago.

he'll be redistricted to two years!

I woud surmise that to toughen him up he will be redistricted between, Richmond Hill, and Harehills.

Where would you have him redistricted to?

Saw the Wober link elsewhere and it wouldn't surprise me... He really doesn't want to be a championship starter let alone back up. Despite the lack of CB's at ER I'd let him go, I'm not really counting him as a Leeds player atm anyway

We'll do well to keep hold of Harry Gray tbf. Rules need changing because right now it's way too easy for rich prem clubs to asset strip from the lower leagues and give f**k all back

Perhaps we will see if Gray junior buys into this Side before Self malarkey.

It would be insane to let Wober go at this stage when there is no realistic prospect of replacing him . Struijk has in every season missed some games through injury and given the amount of games that have to be played there is a real risk that Wober will be needed at some stage . He was one of the few players brought in who performed at a decent level during the relegation season and did well in Germany last year . He is therefore well capable of doing a job in the Championship and I for one think he will be needed at some stage of the season. It has basically been admitted that Rangnick informed him that he wouldn't be considered for the Euros if he was playing in the Champo . On that basis can anyone genuinely blame him for wanting to take might be his only opportunity to play in an international finals .
I think it is rather disappointing that a club like Spurs should be engaged in publicising their interest which is clearly designed to unsettle a very young player.

By the time he turn 17, Leeds will be a PL club again and Harry will be signing his first pro contract at Elland Road.

His second one might be more tricky…
