Although It pains to me say it Revie won that battle but overall Cloughie won the war. His partnership with Taylor was massive and they used a simple formula to beat the current crop of teams. I lived in Nottingham for many years and saw Nottingham Forest destroy anyone that dared to visit the City Ground. John Robertson was just unplayable back then.. On the later years I met Clough in the local paper shop which was run by his brother. The European Cup proudly displayed next to the sweet counter. Asked if I could pick the cup up for a Emlyn Hughes moment. something I will never forget. Whatever you think about Brian Clough, a big headed, self centred and in top one for the England job which he never was offered.. He was always a winner............

Whatever he achieved for them he would never have achieved that at Leeds sorry.

We will never know for sure...Clough had time at Forest and he rebuilt the squad and the rest is history.

Clough needed Taylor like The Don needed Les ....
