Knife Crime in the UK

Post by 60sUnited »

Following another horrendous and sad death in Sheffield isn't it time that our continously inept and soft government took some steps to show it even cares about the situation !! To start with what I would do from now is impose a 5 year imprisonment for anyone carrying a knife without trial.....I know, I know, all of the 'earn a fortune for defending the guilty' lawyer types will do their best to get their poor non breast fed twat's off the hook....but surely something has to be done !! This country is such a soft touch.

Definitely not a party political issue, no government has shown it cares in 10 years.

Don't expect this calamitous government to do anything when they blamed Amazon for selling knives to the Southport murderer, when they are in every kitchen in the country.

They refuse to allow cops to go back to stop and search because they think it's racist if any black person is stopped.
Anyone should be stopped if they are suspects regardless of colour.

Sadly knife crime will continue to rise because they're just incapable of anything other than jailing people for posting comments on social media and taxing everything to death.

4 more years of these clowns.

It's only a matter of time before schools over here introduce metal detectors that pupils have to walk through as per the U.S.

Poor parenting, kids listening to music about killing, watching violent films, social media, social services, no morals, etc contributing to knife & general crime in the UK.

Sickening, but true!

Schools have tight budgets there's hardly enough resources for educational needs inside buildings in disrepair, can't see where they'll get the funding for these expensive detectors plus security to operate them in every school, it won't be from central government, they're too busy giving money away to richer economies.

Maybe those metal detector wands might be a good start, but they'll be someone complaining it removes human rights or it offends some one. :duno:

Tougher laws to start with, kids seem to use the excuse that they carry them for self defence.

True Leon, unheard of in our day. I was saying to Lee yesterday that I really wouldn't want to be a teacher in this day and age :(

A friend of mine, sometimes comes to the games with us, is a teacher.

A pupil squared up to him the other day, the pupil is much bigger than my mate, so my mate had to back down at the time. The pupil is now suspended.

My mate said this is becoming common place now, wouldn’t have got away with it in my day at school.

In 1979 a good teacher at the school I went to was stabbed and killed by a pupil... because he tried to make him write home...

This is a good school, in Skipton... And in case you are thinking, I had left by then...

Massive problem thats being sadly neglected. We actually have laws in place that carrying a knife over a certain size is illegal. Its been law for quite a long time but is it enforced. The only way we are going to make headway is to ban internet sales of knives, make a window of opportunity to get people to hand in illegal knives and then hit the offenders hard when they are caught. No excuses, 3 strikes are you are out wearing a prison number

Just awful Mr Hec, and that was back then.

It’s only got worse, and will get worse still.

Ask why knife crime has risen, it's not just bad parenting although it certainly does play a part.

We have gang culture and drill music which a lot of home grown lads get involved with, we have domestic abuse, injury and fatalities too.

We have also imported and continue to import people that are culturally different to westernised people, from countries with a high crime rate, where this is common place, we hear of knife attacks and deaths amongst different cultural gangs in camps in Calais, fighting to get their place on the boats. London is another area that has become a massive problem.

If you want the true figures then put in a freedom of information request on the ethnicity/nationalities, be prepared for a long wait though because that too has been closed to the public, no prizes for guessing why that is.

People don't want to talk about that, because they see the odd case on the BBC, they don't see the ones that slip through those media outlets, because they don't want you to know the real figures and stats.
