Please reassure me
Can't help but feel this season is beginning to feel like last season.
One win in four is not good.
Everyone says we have an easier run in but most of the teams we are playing are either fighting relegation or chasing play-offs - so all going to be difficult games and unfortunately I do see us dropping quite a few more points.
Not adding one or two players in January was in my view such a bad call - added with the loss of Ampadu which has impacted us big time at the back.
Please tell me it is going to be different and we are not going to end up in the play-offs and suffer the inevitable once again.

Don't live your life worrying, especially about football.

Re: Please reassure me
We will drop points but Burnley and sheff utd will also. Hopefully Farke has learnt from last year's experience and the strength of our squad will get us over the line. Next couple of months won't be fun!

Re: Please reassure me
Come on chaps, chins up
Let's just enjoy supporting a team that is fighting for promotion, would you all prefer we were mid table and playing hoof ball ?
Too many (fans) thought we had won the league last month and now too many (fans) think we are that poor we won't win another game.
Talk about over reaction
Personally I wouldn't mind another trip to Wembley (if we won the semi) our luck has to change at some point, and it will, just ask Newcastle

Can’t see many on here daft enough to predict an easy journey to The Promised Land but how many fans on here would have taken the current league table at this stage if offered it at the start of the season ??
There’s going to be a lot of factors in whether we go up or not, keeping players fit, rotation, tactics, keeping our nerve, luck etc but as sure as your a**e points down everyone on here stressing, arguing & losing the plot won’t make one iota of a difference to what happens. Pop a cold one, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Re: Please reassure me
Having just finished my mac n cheese with lobster and prawns, it's got me thinking. Are Leeds ready for the PL and willing to risk being another Southampton repeat, laughed at as being the whipping boys of the PL?LeedsLeeds wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 3:39 pm Please tell me it is going to be different and we are not going to end up in the play-offs and suffer the inevitable once again.
Leeds' recent history is repeating itself, along with that lobster. No new additions in January, little rotation, looking knackered entering the final straight with unused talent rusting on the bench. It's nothing new.
The playoff semi last season was incredible and Leeds earned a ticket to the final, just 90 mins from the PL. Leeds hardly had a shot on goal and the Saints won, yet are now rooted into 20th, 17 points behind 17th with 27 points available. I won't lose any sleep if ER isn't financially ready for the PL, after all it's big business at the end of the day.
If you don't know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.

Sadly, LUFC is all some folk have in their lives.

Re: Please reassure me
I know some of my pals would be shocked but, I would mind going to yet another disappointing Final since I last saw Leeds beat Arsenal at Wembley in 1972.Johnthewhite wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 5:54 pm Come on chaps, chins up

It's become an extremely expensive poor day out over the last six decades.
I'd obviously go, but I can't say I would look forward to a long, tiresome trip or the day itself, unless our fortunes changed to a positive outcome.

At the start of the season, would you have taken 80 points with 8 games remaining?

It is expensive I agree, but imagine how you would feel if you didn't go and we finally won there1964white wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 7:41 pm I know some of my pals would be shocked but, I would mind going to yet another disappointing Final since I last saw Leeds beat Arsenal at Wembley in 1972.

Re: Please reassure me
It will all look and feel a lot better after we absolutely smash Swansea.
Re: Please reassure me
No point worrying
But this season and last looking very similar
This was this point last season
Unfortunately for us we blew the opportunity next game, Leicester lost, we drew vs struggling Watford who only won 1 of 7 after playing us and Ipswich won and went 1st.
Had we won we'd have been 1 above Ipswich, 3 above Leicester with a 3 point buffer and a better goal difference (Leicester had a game in hand)

3 teams far better than the rest. And Burnley & SU are both non faders. No chance of any fading. We will have to earn it or the play offs beckon.
Are Sunderland the Southampton in that scenario.

Maybe, but if so, sentence construction has improved a bit

Re: Please reassure me
Besides the fact the Blunts and Burnley play each other they both have Coventry coming up, who are in very good form. On paper we have the easier run in. Lots to be positive about. Turn that frown upside down.
Re: Please reassure me
Embrace it.
This is the way sport should be.
Nerve wracking, plenty of jeopardy, exciting, frustrating.
We are in the mix for the autos. Where else would you want to be?
Not for us a boring mid-table team who are thinking of the beach.
Squeaky bum time. Gotta love it.
