Most useful Loan Players since the Upturn in 2018

Post by Irish Ian »

I was wondering who you forumites rated as the most useful loan players of late.

For the sake of the poll I have ignored the obvious failures like JKA, Spence, MacKennie, Baker, Blackman, Brown, Clarke and perhaps a few others, Some of those names make me shudder

So here goes:

For me top is Solomon purely because his impact this season has meant we haven't missed Summerville. Next is Ben White who again stepped in and meant we had imo an upgrade on Pontus. Third is Rodon who is a rock at the back for us.
I will say though that Jackie Harrison and Illian Meslier did cross my mind as both had a huge impact in our promotion and our surviival last time.

1 Solomon
2. White
3 Rodon

So fire away with yours, pick three in the poll and indicate in here your 1,2, 3.

Perhaps after it ends we can try and come up with our No1.

Rodon
White
Harrison

Subbed Harrison in for Solomon.
Love Rodon. A proper warrior.
White was class.
Should really have included Harrison originally tbh.
Remarkable fitness record for a modern footballer.

White & Harrison as they were vital to achieving promotion under Bielsa.

Solomon for hopefully the same reason under Farke.

During his time in Yorkshire, the 26-year-old made at least 35 league appearances in each of his five seasons, registering 34 goals and 32 assists in 206 games across all competitions.

In 2022/23, Harrison was Leeds’ joint-highest scorer, with five goals, while also providing seven assists (the most for a Leeds player) in 36 Premier League games.

In terms of minutes, his 2,708 was the third highest at the club, and the second most for an outfield player.

No Leeds player featured in more Premier League games during the past three seasons than Harrison, who missed just seven of the 114 total matches. During those campaigns, his 37 goal contributions (21 goals and 16 assists) was the most for any Leeds player.

Think he played in 45 of 46 games in our promotion season. 6 goals.
Always said he had an incredible fitness record. Like him or loathe him.

No, if you go back you'll see I rated Harrison highly. Absolutely key in the promotion season and the one before. How he's done for Everton while being played out of position has nothing to do with Leeds

Transfermkt says 45 out of 46 in the starting 11.
Subbed once.
That’s remarkable if true.

Harrison was on my mind too.

He was pivotal in the promotion season and contributed to some of our great memories from that time.

Aylings stunner against Huddersfield was provided by Jack.
That brilliant team goal in the last minute away to Reading are a couple that readily come to mind.

Ben White for me.

Did immensely well.

Harrison was OK without being spectacular.

Solomon has been good largely.

I feel I should include Jack in my three however, Harrison had several top players around him.

I'm juggling with White. Rodon, Soloman & Harrison.

Not many more to choose from those top 4 in the polls Ian.
2 we signed and maybe Soloman to come.
In no particular order I have
Rodon
Soloman
White

Harrison had been a mainstay due to lack of competition imho.

Nod to Jack, but I can’t stand him nowadays.
