I'm going with 10 for Rodon.
The rest up tomorrow.

Re: Player Ratings s Oxford (a)
Darlow - 8 A very big save to start the game and didn't put a foot wrong the rest of the way
Bogle - 8.5 Just everywhere
Firpo - 8
Gruev - 7
Rodon - If ten is out of this world, better than excellent, then I suppose this performance deserves a ten
Ampadu - 7.5
Gnonto - 7
Tanaka - 7
Piroe - 7 Another Bamford-esque performance. Didn't really threaten scoring, but a true net positive
Aaronson - 8
Solomon - 8.5
James - 5
Bamford - 7 Did a lot to put the game away

I find it interesting that many have given Gruev and Tanaka the same score. Were they on the same level last night. Poles apart for me.
May as well share how I saw the game. My scores also reflect the opposition. So whilst Rodon was the standout it, we were not playing Real Madrid.

Re: Player Ratings s Oxford (a)
I respect your opinion as always, DDB, but I'm still giving Rodon 10/10. Oxford's team is a big side who are reliant on aerial bombardment, as we witnessed with their continuous long throws. 17 of their 43 goals have come from their defenders, which says it all. Our CBs were put to the test last night with Ampadu & Rodon in particular magnificent last night.
Without Rodon, we'd lose that match, that's how vital he was to us.
When an opposing manager acknowledges & picks out one of our players, he must have been outstanding.
Re: Player Ratings s Oxford (a)
Oh, & one more point.
If Piroe receives 8s & 9s against Preston when not hitting the target once with his six shots, Rodon deserves the maximum score, as he didn't miss a trick in last night's game.

Joking aside who said within a context of a game you cant be a 10? Does the opposition have to be Barca or Pool to justify it.
Perfection is never possible if you analyse anything but if you see a 10 then fair enough.

We all see games differently, we all look for different things. They may have not been Real Madrid but we're not Arsenal.

Re: Player Ratings s Oxford (a)
I have no issue. But if 10 is the highest score, where do you go from there next season, if he plays a great game against top opposition.1964white wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 7:52 am I respect your opinion as always, DDB, but I'm still giving Rodon 10/10. A 10 for me is Messi quality and influence at his peak.
I have been quite generous in my marks with that as my barometer.

Considered giving Rodon a 10 because he was immense but think I've only ever given 2 of those.

Darlow - 7 (solid performance. Did what he was supposed to do. Nice blocked shot)
Bogle - 8.5 (wonderful assist for the goal! Looked dangerous all match
Firpo - 7.5 (nice involvement going forward and wasn’t scorched getting back)
Gruev - 6.5 (came on a bit late, but thought his first half was below average)
Rodon - 9 (Joe Warrior strikes again! MOTM)
Ampadu - 8 (nice command of the game today. Pushed forward ahead of Rodon at time to get involved in MF)
Gnonto - 6 (was just okay today. Nothing really stood out)
Tanaka - 7 (would’ve been a wondergoal had his long range effort gone in. Decent performance today)
Piroe - 7 (nice first half. Faded a bit on the second)
Aaronson - 7 (nice runs and involvement. Drew a TON of fouls and yellows)
Solomon - 9 (wonderful finish for the goal. Our most dangerous attacker. Joe Rodon edges him for MOTM in my book)
James - 5 (meh)
Bamford - 6 (nice shenanigans late, otherwise didn’t get too involved)
Schmidt - 6.5 (a little more involved than the other two subs)
Guilavogui - n/a (not enough to rate)
