Used uber before never had any issues myself.

Usually arrive in good time and so on.

If they know you don't know the area they may try taking you the long way for more money so always pretend your a local and you're fine.

Has been some well publicised issues with pervy uber drivers but yeah.

As a getting from a to b always been reliable.

Use them often, fairly reliable.

Be cautious of the surge charging though, can be expensive during busy times.

Use uber all the time and in my opinion they are really good.

One downside is occasionally you'll have a driver who has agreed to the pick up who then decides to drop to the job. Bloody annoying as you then have to wait for another driver to accept the job again. Has only happened a couple of times though.

Top tip is sometimes check if it's cheaper by slightly altering your destination. For example a fare to Leeds train station might be £40 but changing the requested trip to the Hilton Hotel could see it fall to £19. Provided I'm not taking 3 suitcases with me I'll walk the last 100 yards and save some money.

I've used an Uber once ...never again. Bloke needed a bloody sat nav which meant all the bloody busy roads. I know every rat run, short cut and "way round" there is in a 20 mile radius. so I was pulling my hair out by the end

That’s a brilliant tip Jammy. My lad swears by them but I’ve resisted getting the app so far, probably will at some point.

I wont book them if surging prices in effect.

They want to charge up to double because they dont have enough cars/drivers...seriously?

Local cabbie price the same no matter how busy they are. Same with buses

Get more cars out people.

Unfortunately I have had problems in the past with Uber. The one thing you need to watch out for is the Uber driver fiinishes the journey while you are in the car, he will also rate you as a passenger at the same time.
Most drivers these days do everything through the app for payments so your journey is always paid for promptly. I used to pay cash and have had a few drivers that took the money then went on the app to say I didn't pay..... Another thing to watch out for is that if you have something go wrong, there is no one you can talk to, you might be able to send messages via facebook or instie but the options given never really cover all issues. This does not bring huge amounts of confidence in the service, are you insured while you in a car used by uber? A private hire taxi has to pay around £2,000 a year just in liabilty/ car insurance so how can Uber get drivers with there own vehicles get to transport the public for a percentage of the fare... Its all a bit of grey area imo. Still I am sure there are many happy customers out there and I am in a minority.
