I never imagined when we signed Jayden Bogle that he would outshine Luke Ayling.

And who could forget the Ayling flop.

Bogle's six goals & 4 assists plus improvement with his defending as the season went on swung it for me!

Couldn’t vote against Luke, loved the guy and his attitude, commitment and the smile 😁 The flop was a bonus.

I'm still unsure on this.

Are we voting for the who did best?
Who was the overall better player?
Or who we preferred?

Vote for who was the best/effective player in their promotion season.

It wouldn't be fair to judge Bogle's one season against Ayling long term Leeds career, or else Luke would win hands down.

I personally loved them both, but I do think Bogle's goal contribution was a significant factor for my vote!

I like Bogle. Think he had a terrific season and think he's got a great future ahead of him. Most likely a bigger future than Ayling.

But can't go against Ayling. He's a club legend in my opinion.

Thanks.

Bogle came good towards the end of November, before that he was hit and miss, you could tell he had something but didn’t always show it.
Luke had a good promotion season overall, but his galvanising speech after the Forest game (iirc) got us back on track after a slight wobble, so going with Ayling.

Free the hair and play air guitar, and completely botch the Robbie Keene celebration. Ayling created memories. Jaydon has not done anything memorable.

Overall, Bogie produced a far greater attacking threat/goals contribution than dear old Luke.

Went Bogle as he had the greater goal contribution

But with the caveat that he had more talented teammates which of course helps.

Ayling far superior defensively. Bielsa and Farke differ in system

Actually I've had a rethink.

Is recency bias helping Bogle? He made 42 starts compared to Ayling making 36 and only got 1 more goal or assist.

Bogle actually has the worst ratio of any of our 4 main Championship winning full backs for goals or assists.

Given all of them were mainly offensive full backs I'd actually go Ayling taking into account the full picture.

Bogle probably more gifted overall but Luke was a better package imo that season.

Bogle had a very good season for us last year, but I don't think he was talismanic in the same way that Ayling was. A leader, a big character always ready to step up and field the difficult questions, and defensively more sound than Bogle whilst still posing an attacking threat, Luke is a Leeds icon and gets my vote. And he only cost, what, £300,000?

That's a very good point, think there's more difficult votes to come.
