1st international break poll

Post by Cjay »

Got to do something for the next 2 weeks :roflmao:

So.

Very simple.

A mark out of 10 for the start overall, points, performances etc overall out of 10 with 1 being dreadful and 10 being dreams.

And then what has impressed you most (if anything) so positives

And then what concerns or disappoints you so far (if anything) so negatives.
Signed

If someone had said to me Leeds would pickup 4 points out of 9, playing two top 6 sides and a battling Everton, I would gladly said yes please. 7 out of 10 so far, just the final pieces to complete a good side...a playmaker and a top striker and we have a great chance of staying in the division. Window closes in 2 days, come on Leeds, get it done....

I'd predicted 4 points after 3 games so all good. We are sloppy at the back and need a 9 & 10. If we don't get a 9 & 10 we are going to struggle to stay up. Steady 6 out of 10 for me as it stands...

Better start than any of last seasons promoted , a win under the belt is positive, after 1 game too . However ......the thrashing by Arsenal , are there defensive worries or are Arsenal and the top teams just too far ahead , is Farle up to it at this level . Some decent transfer signings but maybe not a game changer . It's not a bad start at all ( Sheffield Weds though , what was that ? ) , maybe pretty much expected so far ......6 . International break already though 🥺🥺 , didn't even realise England were due a game not know who they are playing . To be honest not even interested.

Read on the Newcastle fans forum they expected 18/18 points against the newly promoted sides... it is a joy to confound their expectations.

4 points from 3 games. Lets see now the stats.
38/3=12.66

12.66x4=50.66 points

I'll take that. Stats are wonderful you can make them bend to your will.

7/10

Better start than in the championship last season.

We acquired the four points I expected against difficult opposition,

Sunderland run of opening three games were far easier.

Whoever has given our start 5/10 is a joke!

Why??

we have won 50% and lost 50%

that puts it rightin the middle... Hence 5/10

logical innit?? :) :) :P
Hopelessly lost.................. But making good time

I might have said 5/10 if I'd included the Carabao Cup

But I just based it on league and that's a 7/10 for me

I went for 8 on the basis of 4 points and making the best out of the squad we currently have. Our current lack of creativity and quality up the top end of the pitch means we need to be organised, battling and focused and in the 2 games that really mattered we did that. Keeping clean sheets at least gives us a chance. It's not pretty to watch and the next 3 games will provide a more accurate test as to our relative strengths and weaknesses against mid/ lower table teams.

6 for the start
5 for the performances

The Good: Struijk in defence and in transition, Bogle and his marauding runs
The Bad: Lack of goals is the concern followed by lack of chances

I wanted to give us 6.85. 6 is too low and 7 perhaps a shade too high. Who creates these polls with a lack of options ?

A 6 from me,I might have given a 7 if not for a thrashing at Arsensl and a defeat by some school kids .
As others have said thd lack of creativity and goals is a real concern and could well be our downfall.
As it stands I feel if we go a goal or 2 behind in a game we're done.

Hovered between 6 & 7 but prefer to be optimistic so went 7. Yesterday restored my faith after Arse & Wed and the International break could prove good timing for Amps and Okafor and a chance to get DCL fitter.

Obvious worries about creativity and goals but hoping we haven’t finished with the transfers, delighted with 4 points so far.

Give 7 as the start we have made has been good, all things considered. Played 2 top teams in Arsenal & Newcastle, plus an Everton side who admittedly were not at full strength but still have a squad full of premiership experienced players and manager.
Given that we are still bedding in new players and having to change players already due to injuries, its been a good start. This league is a massive upgrade for us and rarely do things pop into place right from the start. Its vital we keep ourselves close to the pack of teams that we think may well struggle this season, and so far we are on course with that, even if it is still very early days.
We will need to be quick and good learners this season, hopefully we can be

A 7/10 for me.

If you had offered me 4 points from those 3 games before the season kicked off, I would have bitten your hand off.

Wolves and W Ham look like relegation contenders and Brentford look poor. We have every chance of surviving.

Went with a 7, would have happily taken 4 points from those first 3 games. Manner of the Arsenal defeat was disappointing, but it would seem lessons were learned and there was a much more pragmatic display against Newcastle yesterday. Solid without being spectacular; a bit more creativity and I think we'll be alright. This fortnight break affords DF the chance to really work on bedding this squad in, hopefully creating a better understanding amongst the players.

Doesn't that apply to all teams? ....
