Stats & Polls Who starts as our No.9 at Forest? - Poll of the Day (6th Nov)

Post by 1964white »

If Farke persists with playing one striker upfront, who starts as our No.9 at Forest

Goals are at a premium, particularly away from ER.

Just the three goals scored on our travels.

DCL is currently the big bad wolf, as he is not scoring the goals we need, although his chances have been extremely limited in our recent poor run of defeats.

Some of our favourite players such as Bogle, Ampadu & Tanaka seem untouchable for a place in our first XI even though their seasonal ratings are 6 or under.

Seasonal ratings
6.3 Calvert-Lewin
5.4 Nmecha
5.1 Piroe

If fit then DCL.

Sell Piroe to Boro or Coventry for £15M on 1st January and then buy a quality attacking player for £30M+

Went for DCL.
He is only part of the problem and we have more fundamental issues to resolve in the 10 players behind him, especially away from home.

I don't think it matters, problem is not with the 9 and they're all roughly the same quality

Piroe is the best finisher
DCL give us aerial presence
Nmecha gives us pace

The all hold the ball up well with Piroe the best passer

I went JP (shock).

Not convinced it will change anything because I don't think short of turning into prime Messi and coming to the edge of our box to receive the ball then running the length of the pitch to score, I'm not sure what strikers can do in our away setup.

But I think JP has earned a shot.

I'll stick with Calvert-Lewin, I know what I'm getting with DCL, only one goal so far, I know!

Can't see the other two scoring goals, either.

Would definitely give Piroe a chance playing behind DCL, but that means Farke changing his formation.

Sounds good to me, unfortunately I can't see our board spending that amount of dosh on a signing which is necessity, imo!

Would be nice to know the reasons from the two voters who selected OTHER.

I assume playing someone like Gnonto or Okafor up top?

I went with Piroe because why not, it's not like the other 2 are knocking them in for fun. Agree with Cjay though, the issue is the paucity of chances we create, especially away from home. But if there's one or two in a game, I'd rather they fell to JP who we know is the best finisher.

I know the thread is with one striker but I’d do a flexible version of this ie Gud and Bogle as wing-backs and Aaronson tucking in as an extra midfielder if Bogle overlaps him, depending on the situation.

——————-DCL

Okafor———Piroe--—-Aaronson

Gud——Stach—Longstaff——Bogle

-—Bijol*——Ampadu——Rodon

(Struijk * as the other option)

I went with DCL. But I would still like to see Piroe come on at the 60 min mark if we are chasing the result. But I would bring him on as the #10 playing just behind the Striker. He would replace Stach or Longstaff for me.

I see rumours of a return to the PL for Ivan Toney have started.
Could he get a flight lined up to get to Nottingham for Sunday.
Can I change my vote in the poll to Ivan Toney :)

I went DCL, if it’s 1 up front he’s all we have.

He couldn’t score in a brothel like, what a sh1t position to be in for a newly-promoted Leeds team.

Piroe to come on alongside him second half when we’re desperate.

Nmecha only received one vote, however if Calvert-Lewin is unavailable I reckon Lukas will start.
