If we get relegated
who would you want in charge next season to try to get us promoted?
Regardless of whether Farke was still in charge at the end of this season or had been sacked who would you want the club to 'realistically' appoint (or keep if Farke was still in charge) next season to try to get us promoted?
I haven't done a poll so it is free to suggestions. I ask as realistically if a club was in the championship and looking to hire a 'promotion expert' then Farke, despite Cjay's view, would have to be at the top, or near the top, of any list. So would people want us to re-hire Farke if we'd sacked him and gone down?

Re: If we get relegated
What a depressing thought
Back in Championship with Mr Ploddy.
But seriously, even if Farke was some sort of Championship silver bullet we'd at best end up in this situation again 12 months later, what's the point?
Wouldn't it be better to think outside the box?

Scotty Parker should be free by then.
What about McKenna at Ipswich?
Ange would be fun

In that scenario I would definitely agree.Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 6:02 pm What a depressing thought

Anyway it won’t happen. If he’s sacked he wont be re-hired. More likely relegation goes to the wire & we just miss out on GD with Farke in charge. Then there could be an argument for keeping.

I’ll worry about it then, no point stressing before that, life’s too short.

I agree with what you say Cj,we have to break the mould if we go down I do not see the point in having Farke there get somebody in now if we stay up great if we go down stick with the new manager and go again .Cjay wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 6:02 pm What a depressing thought

It was a long time ago and my memory isn't what it was
I guess I'm hoping to find a Leeds Utd fan who lives in my village on the forum

Re: If we get relegated
I don't get the knocking of Farke. Just look at how Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton are doing this season and how Luton did last year. There is no guarantee of promotion. For all that Sheff U imploded we were still on course for well over 90 points, as were they, when they imploded. That's pretty good going and I don't feel Farke gets anywhere near enough credit. Yes we had a financial advantage but we still had to go out and get the points. Just look at how hard it was for us to get out of League 1 and we were every team's cup final. Burnley and Sheff U didn't have that to contend with. Also worth noting that Burnley and Sheff U vastly out performed the xg metrics for goals conceded whereas we were hamstrung by Messlier. So we finished top despite almost being handicapped. Put Trafford in our team last season and we probably get another 15 to 20 points. Given that we got 100 points and the maximum is 126 then you would have to say with a decent keeper we'd have been setting records.
Yes Farke's record in the prem was a worry and is a worry but we shouldn't diminish his achievement and if we were back in the championship he'd be top of my list even if it was just a 1 year contract with a golden handshake for getting us up (akin to the deal offered to Allardyce to try to keep us up). I don't see why the likes of McKenna would be deemed as better than him, or why anyone would want Parker's style of football.

Re: If we get relegated
I think it’s now when we get relegated if we keep Farke.
I’d take Mike Bassett at this stage !
