Rate our performance vs Liverpool - Poll of the Day (7th Dec)
Rate our performance between 0 and 10
Re: Rate our performance vs Liverpool - Poll of the Day (7th Dec)
The first 50 minutes were terrible so a 6 overall.
If only we could play like the last 40 minutes for the full 90.

We didn't play well at all and were lucky that the scoreline was 0-2 after 50 minutes or so. LIverpools fragile defense and lack of concentration helped our cause to get back into the game. Going for 6/10

Second half performance dragged it to 8, six for the first half.
So 7 overall.
So 7 overall.

What Finn said
Football is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

Would have been a 5 but our subs came on and provided the energy to lift our performance to a 7.
Clearly though we were not anywhere near the same level as on Wednesday night.

Steady in the first-half.
Was their cuppa tea laced with drugs in the break, as certain players came out totally switched off for the first twenty minutes of the second-half. ---- Very poor!
Brilliant in the final third of the game, apart from yet another lapse, during our fightback.
7/10

Looking ahead, it's obvious that we need to sort out the left side of the defence, whether we have two or three CBs. Only Burnley have conceded more goals than us now - and that's only one more. Most have come from the left. We can't go on conceding two goals a game and survive in the PL. Plus we need to sort out the away form.
I think we need another left footed CB in the January window to compete with Struijk in that position. Don't forget that Struijk was dropped recently after a series of errors caused by him frequently switching off, plus his lack of pace. Other clubs will continue to target us down that left side.
Also, we probably need to reconsider whether it's wise to play the ball across the defence so much if we are being pressed hard. That error by Rodon was caused by doing just that. I guess Farke likes to keep his possession stats high, however it's a dangerous way to achieve this if we get caught out passing the ball around at the back against a high press. And especially as our CBs sometimes seem to switch off a bit.

Is everyone making allowances for the fact Liverpool played twice as well as Chelsea? If not they should and if you don't rate that comeback then there's something wrong with you. Fully behind the person who gave it a 10.

5 for me. 3 for the first half and 7 for the second half. Showed the gulf in class between the players and no surprise that we weren't able to play with the same intensity as Wednesday night. Ful credit to the manager and players though for a great comeback and the desire and togetherness showed. Hopefully the belief in themselves will grow and they will continue to improve. Let's get behind the boys!
