That'll bite us in the arse if we go down... Not many teams pay good money for relegated players. We could go the loan route, that would make sense

I'd hazard a guess that it will be based on current book value. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 6:55 pm That'll bite us in the arse if we go down... Not many teams pay good money for relegated players. We could go the loan route, that would make sense
So if we signed a player last summer on a 4 year deal his exit transfer fee if we're relegated this season will be 75% of what we paid. Free transfer like DCL and Nmecha will probably have the option to leave for free rather than accept the wage cut.
Best solution is to stay up so January should see some signings

See where we are in May.
No need for self-inflicted misery at this moment in time, especially as things look ok currently.

WTF are you happy to have loan clauses for players that come into force if we go down. Remember the last time we were in this league and what a mess it causedThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 6:55 pm That'll bite us in the arse if we go down... I would agree with you. Better for us to have control and nothing to stop us from loaning out a player if it then suits us.

There will be some shenanigans, of that i have no doubt.
But, i'll try not to worry about it just yet.
