Either a 7 or an 8 but marked them up for limiting a very good home side to a couple of half chances and could possibly have taken all 3 ourselves. They’ve already beaten Pool, Scum, Newcastle, Villa & Burnley there this season, a good point earned.
Football is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

Good summary of the quality Brentford possess & what they have achieved this season, Cussie.
8/10 for me.

A few errors but overall another encouraging performance, if we can carry on in this vein our main problem will still be converting our chances.

Excellent away performance and a solid 7 from me.

Yes, 7 from me too, great away point.
Re: Rate our performance vs Brentford? (15th Dec)
I went 7 as well
Did fairly well against a generally strong home side.
Marked down from 8 for conceding first again which is a worrying habit.

6/10 and average score as overall we played ok against a poor Brentford side that is usually a lot tougher to play against especially at home. It was painful first half with very little quality. When we finally scored, the game was ours for the taking but we failed to take advantage of the momentum.

6 rising to 7 after the substitutions... I'll go with the 7

We made Brentford look average by not giving them space to play their usual game.Musicman1965 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 11:13 am 6/10 and average score as overall we played ok against a poor Brentford side that is usually a lot tougher to play against especially at home. We did, and with the three CB’s we negated their long throw threat which is possibly the best in the PL.
Bijol stopped Thiago being a threat too which helped Struijk and Rodon to sweep up the other threats.
TSB match summary made a valid point that when we have reverted back to 4-3-3 we look comfortable as we have been playing a version of it for two years.
The more we play 3-5-2 we can tweak the things that aren’t working so they become second nature then we become comfortable playing both systems.
For most of the remaining away fixtures I’d be happy to start with 3-5-2 , the amount of times when Bogle and Gudmundsson have overlapped, sometimes leaving us with two at the back when playing 4-3-3, gives me feeling of dread if we loose the ball.
If we are chasing the game or think we might nick a win then I’m happy with 4-3-3.
At ER I’d prefer a more creative system which 4-3-3 gives you, only changing it against some of the so called bigger teams.

Agree. An 8 from me as well.
Away fixtures suddenly don’t feel as daunting.
