Muha has to play, only left footed CB at the club and we paid 34M for him. He's nailed on
Rodon has to play, the only of our CB with elite recovery speed and a very good CB anyway

I would say the best set of centre-backs since Charlton, Madeley & Hunter, who never played as a back-three, not forgetting Radebe, Woodgate & Ferdinand of course.

Like others have said Rodon, Bijol & Tarik at present but I can see Elvedi replacing Bijol at some point. I do think though that Farke will ease Elvedi in, and I expect him to start the next league cup match and possibly then start in the league. I do think it was telling that Farke brought Elvedi into the starting line-up, in the cup match, but also chose to play Rodon and Tarik to see how they played together.

Of course injuries may change plans and Elvedi steps in to the defence earlier.

Probably not but more teams playing international football at a higher level and big squads mean todays Leeds are more likely to have four international CB's than Revie's Leeds or even O'Leary's Leeds

Keeping all 4 happy is going to be tough and there's gonna be a lot of second guessing

Remember when O'Leary switched to a back 3 to accomodate Radebe, Woodgate and Ferdinand after signing the wonky lipped drug cheat. Seem to think it was against Leicester and it didn't last long before we switched back to a back 4.

Not as easy to switch formations as many fans think and it is great credit to Farke and the players that they did it so well last season and would certainly point to us having been working on it in training, for quite a while, prior to making the switch. Certainly not something just done at half time against Man City with no prior planning.

To some degree I can see the issue at times resolving itself. Last season Bornauw made 5 starts and JJ made several starts as part of a 3 man centreback structure. So I could see the 4th choice centreback making a dozen starts just because of injuries or suspensions. It then also gives Farke the potential luxury of not rushing someone back from injury so they may be out for say 2 matches with injury but Farke may turn that into 3 or 4 matches as there is no need to take a risk (or wait till the next cup match before bringing the injured player back in).

Ideal scenario is to also have good cup runs so that there can be a bit of rotation for those games.

I assume Woodgate, Radebe and Ferdinand hadn't played in back 3 before.

Rodon, Bogle, Bijol and Gudmundsson had all extensively at previous clubs and internationally

That's the difference.

You would assume it's worked on in training occasionally maybe but thats no real preparation for a match.

Still firmly believe we recruited for a back 3

We could play wingers with that formation and still have the pivot plus a 8/10 hybrid
