No the club pay rent to Radz to use the stadium. The club do not own it. It's like saying you own a home but pay rent.

Where did you get that information from?

"Football is about the people and the players,” he said. “Then there are those who will mingle in the middle: the coaches, executives and journalists. That last group represents the worst part about football" Marcelo Bielsa

It's an interesting proposition. One made more relevant by the financial realities of the Premier League. I think most of us would agree that some of the best and most entertaining football we have ever seen was under Marcelo Bielsa. And most of it happened in the English Football League CHAMPIONSHIP. So was it the football we loved or the chase for promotion to the Premier League. Based on the comments I read in this forum it seems the quality of football is what get's people waxing all nostalgic. We've mostly been miserable since promotion.

But we weren't Paul, that first year back was absolutely glorious considering what he was working with, we were punching well above our weight, i thought we'd get battered every single week and was fearful of how we'd start our first season back with our shyte bob standard average Joe players.....then we played Liverpool first game....and i feared nowt, we were amazing, considering.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 3:34 pm It's an interesting proposition. Pep was spot on " If i was manager at Leeds, they'd still be in the Championship "
That statement alone speaks volumes.
Then enter Orta dumping shyte at his door and expecting him to make them into superstars, throw in injuries to your key positions, throw in suspensions on top of what's currently available, throw in not being able to play the same settled back 4 for any amount of games running, throw in asking players to play another position which wasn't their natural position because the shyte that Orta had bought you just wasn't good enough and throw in just about everything that can be thrown at you, and even the best come unstuck...ask Liverpool.
Not dependent on Google, the www or 'stats' - Just a guy that puts his eyes to full use on the beautiful game
...That Ayling goal and "You couldn't script it
" - Dirty Leeds B@stard.

Has everyone as said in terms of finance i guess it would be a disaster. Atleast being a yoyo side we would have something to cheer every few years. When i hear people talk about being happy with 17th every year it makes me wonder what football has come to.

I loved the football we played in the first season up. Even being 4-0 down to MU we kept going for it and creating chances. Even last season we had a few good performances, the first half v Villa (until they scored) was electric and then the way we bossed the second half. Yes we had a fair few awful performaces but I always had the belief that with a couple of players back from injuries and a couple of new signings that we would have been able to put that season behind us and prosper again. Even if we'd gone down as long as Bielsa had stayed I saw us coming straight back up again.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 3:34 pm It's an interesting proposition. My mate said this exact thing to me. Stay in the Championship, play well but narrowly fail to get promoted. He preferred that they could be competitive instead of being cannon fodder for the big boys. Not sure about that. And the Championship has a trap door too

Sadly, due to work demands I missed the last 15 games of the 2020-21 season. I followed the box scores but was not able to actually watch the games. So I missed the very best part of the Bielsa era in the Premier League.weasel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 4:54 pm I loved the football we played in the first season up. What a bizarre thing to say. I can't see many good things about being relegated other than no more VAR. This is Leeds United we're talking about and it would take us half a century to get promoted. Other teams have that ability to bounce straight back, we don't and usually bottle it. Ideally, we need Radz to f**k off and take his sychophants with him.

Relegation? NO
I'm in the States. I wouldn't be able to watch the games.

Well he hasn't spent much on the stadium, many parts of ER is antiquated, the facilities are exceptionally poor.
There has been mutterings about improving the our stadium, probably bull
I've been standing in our ground for nearly sixty years & it hasn't changed much in three parts of the stadium apart from 1000's of blue plastic seats thrown onto cramped terraces.
Anyway, our owners won't have to concern themselves with that expensive outlay come the end of this season as 1000's of our glory fans will be gone come the start of our 2023/24 championship season.

The board got only one major decision right, appointing Bielsa who made them look good. They looked poor before Bielsa's and they look poor again after Bielsa,
Being brutally honest you have to ask do any of them actually understand football?

About 8000 I reckon. Ironically many who can't get there every other week are treated like pariahs by some of the gobshites who can. Irrespective of the fact that in many cases one round trip costs more than a season ticket. But plastics eh? Who needs them?1964white wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 5:19 pm Well he hasn't spent much on the stadium, many parts of ER is antiquated, the facilities are exceptionally poor.

Re the ground.
Elland Road is a hole that needs a wrecking ball, but i'll tell you what if that day came there would be protests.
Even the East Stand has had its day. Of course many will forget that the atmosphere is generated by people not architecture.
But as you say that day will never come.

The plastics will soon disappear if we drop a league. Fans who used to go to away matches & those like you Irish lads attended home games a few times a season will become apparent once again.Irish Ian wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 6:37 pm About 8000 I reckon. My old pal Ges & his lad haven't watched Leeds once since we returned to Premier League, he's not happy about the situation, Ges wrote to Kinnear, but got no reply.

I'd have to be in the plastics too. We get all premier league games here in the States. ESPN shows one championship game a week. Would we even get streaming coverage if we went down? 16 years I clung to this dream of getting back. If we get relegated I can't watch the games and I'm just a Leeds fan in heart and spirit again.1964white wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 6:51 pm The plastics will soon disappear if we drop a league. Some might think we don't need the international audience. But Leeds were my childhood and my early adult years. I don't want them taken away from me again by the frickin Championship.

Leon, the last Leeds match I attended was home to Walsall in League One, in February 2010. Me and the Mrs had the whole East Stand to ourselves, and as I recall it was £36 per ticket, for fookin Walsall.1964white wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 6:51 pm The plastics will soon disappear if we drop a league. McSheffrey fluked a goal from a free kick and Shane Lowry was one of the full backs. It was dreadful mate and we got beat. This was about five days before we emigrated to Canada and subsequently Bulgaria.
Realistically the only chance of me seeing a home match would be if Leeds were relegated.
But I don't want us to be relegated, as that will be an absolute disaster.
