I doubt they'll get him, but can't fault the ambition. Compare to our fans begging for Dyche.

That took the shine off the evening.

Was Emery available when we signed Marsch. It's a great signing for Villa. Shame we weren't interested in someone that had been at a top club. Shame we chose a work in progress instead.

Villa paid a £5.25mil release clause and have given him a £6mil a year salary.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 8:45 pm Was Emery available when we signed Marsch. They also have promised him significant backing in January which judging by history will likely be many £10s of millions of pounds and quite possibly £100mil or more.
We are simply incapable of providing any of that.
Villa are on a different level financially and ambition wise to us.
So no, he wasn't available when we got Marsch, he wasn't available to Villa either.
But they got him with cold hard cash, promise of more cash, and a genuine plan of ambition and progress rather than empty words.

I parked the car today and when I came back I noticed that the offside wing mirror was hanging off. Obvious what happened.I told the missus.
Bloody Radrizanni
Not only can he not run a football club but he can't even drive a car straight.

Re: Aston Villa Thread
I don't get all this negativity given that we were able to sell our project to Bielsa when we were int he championship and were also able to afford his wages, again when we were in the championship.

Completely different ball game in the Premier League.
What we were paying Bielsa then is normal manager wages at this level.

Do you think the board chose Emery or did Emery choose the board. He’ll probably nail it at Villa

Re: Aston Villa Thread
Yes but it
a) shows the club could sell itself to a top class manager even when in the championship. Shouldn't be as hard to sell the club to a decent manager now.
b) shows we were able to pay premier league wages to a maanger while in the championship so why won't we be able to afford more than that now we are in the premier league?
I just don't get the negativity when the evidence is fairly contradictory.

Re: Aston Villa Thread
You're right. We can attract a big name. If we could sell the project to a Bielsa, we should be able to sell it to another big name. Not every manager needs a huge transfer budget - like Bielsa.weasel wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 10:17 pm Yes but it
