Didn't OGS finish third then second in the prem, with a rebuilding Manure side?
OGS followed on from Mourinho who is retrospect now didn't do a bad job. OGS inherited an expensive squad. The only difference was he removed the Morinho shackles and let them play football. Which was good for a short period. BUt it was based on having an excellent squad. It didn't last long. He was part of a gradual decline that got them to where they're at now.
Anyway. Just threw his name in there for arguments sake. Cjay does much better work than I do, The other Norwegian guy isn't OGS - I was just saying the Norwegian league doesn't offer great context,
To actually pick one that is solely responsible is going to be difficult. The problems are a collection of everyone on your list but The Board and Orta control the majority of the blame in my view. We can't expect to compete in the Premiership with players that have no experience or play a system that is easily countered by the oposition. Unfortunately we have not learnt from last season. Key players have been sold and the replacements have not adapted fully to the Premiership. JM is a nice guy with a passion for the club but I can't see him moving forward with any new ideas to plug the holes and get us scoring goals....

That is an interesting stat. Couldn't be timed better. Probably be a lot of clubs looking at him as a potential world cup switch.
It ends the day after we play our last game pre World Cup I think.
I'd be surprised if he isn't on the list (assuming we have one) to replace Marsch.
He will show up on analysis tools (there it is again) Orta uses.
He ticks a lot of boxes but obviously comes with an element of risk.

Goals scored/difference/against should be taken in context right now
We'll play 37% of our games against top 7 teams (throwing Newcastle in the group)
So far we've only played 18% against the top 7
Interestingly under Bielsa we only conceded more than 2 goals to anyone outside the 'big 6' on 2 occasions last season (3-3 v Villa and 0-3 v Everton). Marsch has already seen us concede 3 to Fulham and 5 to Brentford this season (as well as matching Bielsa in conceding 3 to Villa).
In fact up until the run of games where we were haemorrhaging goals we had only conceded 16 goals in 15 matches against non 'big 6.'

All the pieces of the puzzle start with decision making at the top.
Bielsa because of his experience probably got us up too quickly with an below average PL squad. When Hecky was here we thought we had a League one squad at best and it seems to be coming home to roost despite the additions.
We sold our two best players in the summer and replaced them average players and no real net spend and ambition. To sound like a record the two glaring positions they didn't fill were LB (the fact they have put faith in Firpo is a worry in itself) and we needed to try and get a goalscorer from somewhere (Ivan Toney for £20m would have done for me) but unfortunately the entire defence is now looking porous again and our £6m main goal threat is now looking his price again.
This reminds me a little bit about when Liesdale appointed Venables. He lied through his teeth to Venables, kept the awful secret that we were a sinking ship, making Venables the scapegoat after Liesdales Fire Sale of all of our best players.....
With regards to Knutsen - I also saw the debrief YouTube fella - Connor making a case for him a while back. He does sound promising.
My only concern is that there have been quite a few examples of young new managers doing a fantastic job at their first meaningful club. When they move to a new club that success is not repeated.
Quite often all aspects of a club buy into managers Philosophy. It is a perfect storm in many ways and the club just go from strength to strength and success follows. Emery at Seville - Graham Taylor at Watford - to name just a few.
However, There are very few examples of this success being repeated at the next club. In the main because time to build a team and impose their philosophy is a luxury in short supply these days.
Any manager coming to Leeds if there is a change has one objective this season - keeping us up.
If they achieve that it is likely they will face the same pressures the following season. Any changes they want to make will be gradual.
The reality is that circumstances of joining a big club with high expectation rarely provide the opportunity to create the same level of success unless they have the necessary backing in the transfer market.
If we go down - I think Knutsen would be the ideal appointment but under current circumstances we need a manager who can save us. But the downside is we are likely to face the same problems again next season if we manage to stay up.
There is no easy answer of quick fix to our current dilemma.

Venables changed the way we had played under O'Leary (albeit O'Leary had tried changing the way we played when he brought Brian Kidd in) and it didn't suit the players. Sounds familiar.....
