Nar... He's American and we are gaining fans on a daily basis. It makes good business sense regardless if he's any good. Next we will be buying a East Asian player just for shirt sales. I can still say Asian can't i?Scoobychief wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 1:35 pm is all the talk of this Arronson, going the same way as Rodrigo de Paul ???..

Looks a decent player and a good long term replacement for the let’s face it knackered klich. Long way to go in the window yet but the most crucial position at least for me is a number 10 - I wonder if a cheeky bid for Buendia would bear fruit now villa have signed coutinho and Gerard apparently dosnt rate him.

Brenden Aaronson ran 13.2km yesterday against Liverpool, the most distance covered by a player in a Premier League match this season.

Just hope at some point he starts to get more end product to his game. No reason why he shouldn't be into double figures for goals over a season and create a few too. I think it was Cjay who highlighted his lack of end product, t go with running non-stop, prior to us signing him and for once he has been proven right.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 9:07 pm Brenden Aaronson ran 13.2km yesterday against Liverpool, the most distance covered by a player in a Premier League match this season.

His numbers in Austria showed his poor end product as do his numbers here.
He has 1 goal and 1 assist despite playing something like 90% of our matches (only Meslier and Koch have played more minutes).
Struijk has the same goal contribution as Aaronson in less minutes.
Summerville has matched Aaronson's goal contribution total in just over 100minutes in a week.
It has to be better and whilst he has been very good and creative (think he is top 10 in the league) and probably should have a few more assists, it doesn't excuse his lack of goals.
Frankly his shooting has been shite.
Lot of positives in general but the goals for needs to improve.

I’d go with the positives and feel your being harsh on the goals and assists front.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 10:27 pm Generally am ol sport![]()

Let’s take Saturday’s game. He was blatantly pushed in the back by TTA as he latched onto that wicked cross by Kristensen, which caused him to hit the bar rather than the back of the net. Michael Oliver yet again chose to ignore this blatant penalty for us.
He also jinked excellently from the right touch line in the first half and played the pass of the game, with an early cross field ball to Rodrigo, who failed to score from a really decent chance, yet again.
His issue in the current team is that our attack has been so poor that no matter what he supplies to them they are not scoring. Also because our attacks are so fast, his role in starting them, or being the link between Adams/Roca and the front line means he is rarely in a finishing position. If we built more steadily, rolling a team back, he would have a much better chance of scoring
At the moment he is pressing more than anyone consistently, so it’s not a surprise that his mileage is high, and he does look tired towards the end of most games. If some of the workload is spread and our forward line improves then his contribution will show more clearly both in assists and goals. He’s a quality player that will only get better, and will learn when to fall over when pushed blatantly in the back in the box and put it up to crap officials.

That is worse than Harrison (who most see as wasteful) or Bamford (who most see as wasteful) or Tyler bloody Roberts (who most see as wasteful).
Agree with your positives but his shooting has been shite.

Fair enough - but scoring is not not his primary role compared to Bamford, Roberts and even Harrison. Having said that I would enthusiastically appreciate in increase in his goals scored!
It’s early days for him as a young lad that has just turned 22, in a new league and a new country. He will undoubtedly improve.
