If Southgate picks players on form not reputation then Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Harry Maguire and Jaden Sancho should be nowhere near the squad.

James Maddison, Bukayo Saka, Jude Billingham, people like that should.

Cb worries me most of all.

Maddison not certain to be picked! In the form he’s in.
Would be typical of Southgate tbh

I kinda hope he does...and Tyler Adams destroys him. But that's me, I'm petty...

I think Pep is putting him on the bench for the cup match this week, but Pep has said he still may not play him

First of all, the fact that the World Cup is being held in Qatar is a disgrace. This decision was very obviously based on corruption and a lot of the decision makers at FIFA, the crook Sepp Blatter and his unspeakable criminal cronies will have made an awful lot of money out of that deal and have never been properly investigated, let alone brought to justice, for it. The whole thing just stinks!

Having said that, I’ve always supported England and, occasionally over the years, I’ve had hopes that they might even have a chance of winning something, which of course hasn’t happened since I was just turned 9. But this time England have a dearth of really good quality players and, in my opinion, don’t have a hope in hell of winning it. We’ll be lucky to get out of the group stages, and if Southgate and his players insist on that absurdly pointless knee taking malarkey at the start of games in order to virtue signal their support for whatever woke dogma is currently fashionable, then I probably won’t mind if we don’t make the knockout stages.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hopes of making England’s World Cup squad are in serious doubt after Toffees boss Frank Lampard said he was unlikely to be fit for the club’s final game before the tournament starts.

Calvert-Lewin was hoping his return to fitness after a knee injury at the start of the season could give him an outside chance of making Gareth Southgate’s squad. But after suffering a hamstring injury in the defeat by Leicester on Saturday, the 25-year-old was not included in the squad which lost at Bournemouthon Tuesday nightin the Carabao Cup.

And Lampard said after the defeat he would be “surprised if Calvert-Lewin was fit [for Bournemouth] on Saturday.”

The Everton manager added: “We’re waiting on more news from a specialist.”

Must include Ben White. Even though he's been playing RB for Arsenal, looks one of the best options for England at CB.

Us and USA will qualify from the group but neither will win it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the USA team after getting my wrists slapped by Black Hills Paul. Sounds like they've got a good squad.
Only a handful of teams have a realistic chance of winning it - France, Germany Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and I suppose England.

Shame for young Mes, experience at that tournament would do him no harm at all, even though he wouldn't get a game.
Not surprised at all regarding roberts  James is only in for his past experience and pace.
