Just heard this...... what are your thoughts??
I like the slower pace and his understated vocal, but without the guitar it loses the dynamics which give the original version its impact. The female vocal at the end is just cringe.

Roger has been dining out on the success of The Wall for over forty years now. Neither his, nor Gilmour's, solo careers have matched up to what they achieved together. Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets is the best Floyd offshoot imo.

Amused To Death is a very fine solo album.

Gilmour said it at the time that WYWH was the best balance between the lyrics and the music, but by The Wall it was mainly Waters ranting. The Final Cut was the final straw for me; undiluted Roger is a bit much.

They rightly recognised that it was essentially a gay disco track:

Well it’s certainly different! Unrecognisable.
Wonder what Gilmour & Co would say

The Scissors Sisters take on CN is one of the best covers ever, just infectious Hi NRG. I still remember the first time hearing it and it was a real "wow" moment. They never really reached the high of that Laura/Comfortably Numb phase again.

That first album was fantastic. Diminishing returns thereafter.
