We could play Holland, but more likely Ecuador or Senegal if we qualify.

All could beat us on that drab shite.

Still undefeated since 1776.
To be fair we’ve pretty much been on the same side since then.

Except for when the British burned the White House and the Capitol in 1812. 😁

Pleased with the way the Americans played, particularly Tyler Adams who I thought was the best player on the pitch. Thank goodness he’s ours and signed for a few more years.

The US midfield is the best part of the club. They played extremely well today and kept England from threatening much at all. Back four were rarely tested.

England pretty much assured of getting through, so well done. That’s all that matters.

The English (British) evaluated (incorrectly) the strength of the opposition and sent their reserve team to fight the USA.
The first team was busy fighting France, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Africa, the Middle East etc etc. They did quite well in those.

USA were the better team, played better football, defended better, just maybe lacked a top striker as a focal point

England were slow, passive, predictable, dull.

Southgate is a typical FA yes man.

Company guy who got given the job because of circumstances and had the players and fortunate fixtures to make him look impressive.

He got sacked for taking Boro down and unlike most managers never got linked to another club job.

Boro have had 36 permanent managers and his win percentage is 32nd

Competitive fixtures who Southgate got results against.

If we come up against the likes of Brazil, France or Spain we'll be taught a footballing lesson. Hopefully this is the last WC for Southgate.
Hopefully the last tournament!

I expected Adams to play well but I thought Yunus Musah was exceptional. 19 years old, played a blinder.

I've only quoted this so people read it again.

Excellent bit of research Cjay, thanks.

He is utter fcking shite, and teams like Spain Germany France etc would have done a helluva lot more with the squad of players he's had available to him during his tenure.

How many times in the past have we been able to say England players would get into a lot of teams, there's not been many.

Players like Paul Gascoigne would've walked into most if not all teams and made them better, but there's not been many.

This is the weakest period since the great Spanish team in 2010 that i predicted would win the WC and the Euro's, since then Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Brazil, Argentina have all been pretty ordinary and it was our time to step up to the plate.

But we put GS at the helm, the boring dickhead GS, without an attacking bone in his body.

Exactly Cjay, WTF has the boring fart ever achieved at club level ? Do his teams performances make you sit up and WOW! Do they fck.

Any serious game we win will be entirely down to the players saying 'fck him, let's get out and play how we can and do for our clubs'

England fans live in cuckoo land & need to realize we are nowhere near as good as they think we are, especially we when face anyone decent, it doesn't need to be the world's best for England to struggle.

I was so glad England didn't steal the game at the end, as the USA outplayed them in every department.

It doesn't matter who manages England, we simply haven't got world-class players or even the work-rate to compete with teams with such qualities,

Truly happy for Tyler Adams, no one talking about Jude Bellingham now.

Another part of the UK whom overrate their national team.

Wales are shocking, championship standard at best.

Their cult-hero Bale is way past his sell-by-date.

Time to get real & stick to watching the likes of Cardiff, Swansea & Wrexham.

This this this this all day long. England are a good team, up there with Sweden, Belgium, Croatia and others that
should get into World Cups and Euros (though Taylor, Ramsey, Revie, McLaren, Robson and others have failed at that hurdle),
should get through groups (again, Robson has failed at that, Hodgson did too),
might get through a knockout game or 2 into the last 8 (Capello couldn't, to be fair Eriksen did and that was as far as he got)
but are in nosebleed territory in semis and finals. But the English media seems to think they're up with Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy and others that for decades expect to do all of this stuff routinely.

Exactly. We're the only ones who constantly boast about having the best players in the world and the best league in the world etc. Do the Spaniards, French or Brazilians? No. They do their talking on the pitch.

England will never win anything until we produce creative midfielders and players who can dribble. Greasy has done nothing in an England shirt after all the hype.

Rice and Bellingham were the best midfield duo in the world the other day. Don't make me laugh. Neither has stood out at the highest level yet.

All this England bashing is a tad bit harsh. There are lots of world class players in that squad.

I've not seen any team so far that I thought are unbelievable on the pitch, everybody has had a weakness so far.

Being a Leeds fan is always hard to love England until the last few years with Kalvin there but now he's gone.

Saying the Premier league is not the best league in the world is daft, what league comes near for quality?

Lacklustre performance from England last night, they all just seemed to play at half pace with no urgency and very little intent. They offered the USA too much room to play in, England certainly need to be better in the next round, whether they are actually capable of upping their game against better opposition remains to be seen. Another excellent display from Tyler, I expect the vultures to be circling when the World Cup is over. I don’t think Brenden has found his rhythm so far.

Impressive from USA last night, England not so much.
Lots of rightful praise from members for USA and the usual condemnation for England because they haven’t won every game.
However, if USA don’t win the last game they are out.
England have all but qualified barring a miracle (I can’t see Wales win by four)
