Nah that’s not right. Defo 3 pens. In fact the Kane one is the most obvious in some ways. Defender wrong side simply can’t do what he did. 100% pen. And the fouls on Saka before the play that leads to their goal is a joke. And not a very funny one. Piss poor ref and in the end piss poor England as France aren’t that good.
Get Howe in and we’ll win something

It wasn't a penalty, he threw himself to the ground outside the box to try and con the ref. He does it every week in the PL and gets away with it as he's the golden boy. He will do it at ER too and will get a penalty. I just hope it doesn't end in our relegation.Jaydog wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:23 pm Nah that’s not right. Defo 3 pens. Saka one weren't a foul either tbh. That said England had numerous chance to stop France scoring.

If he did, and that’s a big if then let’s count all the other cheaty dives for pens that were given. Inconsistency is the big problem with VAR. That and totally out of their depth refsSG90 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:27 pm It wasn't a penalty, he threw himself to the ground outside the box to try and con the ref. I agree the only consistency with VAR is the greedy 6 get all the decisions. It's just a myth that England don't dive. Sterling dived v Denmark, Owen dived v Argentina, Lineker dived v Cameroon. I just find it embarrassing tbh, same when Leeds players dive.

If they're penalties they are penalties, whether it be 2 or 22, same rules apply every game, yea, a lot do dive, Kane included, but, I don't think he did, and also that was a foul on Saka, if England or Leeds Utd gain an advantage I'm all for it, especially when you see they charity they afforded Messi / Ronaldive etc.
The inconsistency in football refereeing and VAR is so inept it's almost unbelievable.
This is the biggest stage on earth and they get it consistently wrong, how can this still be allowed in this day and age especially with all the information and every conceivable camera angle at hand.
I get you don't give a toss about England as such, but that dosen't make it correct.

Oh yeah England dive alright. Definitely Kane occasionally, but that’s modern football. But you can’t run when someone’s leg is between yours. I have more of an issue with the fouling on Saka pre French 1st goal.
Football has a massive issue with cheating. And I’m not just talking about FIFA

Maybe in the past when I was a huge England fan I'd probably kick off about it, but watching it through unbiased eyes I didn't think either were fouls. Even the second penalty was soft tbh, Mount was never scoring.mentalcase wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:43 pm If they're penalties they are penalties, whether it be 2 or 22, same rules apply every game, yea, a lot do dive, Kane included, but, I don't think he did, and also that was a foul on Saka, if England or Leeds Utd gain an advantage I'm all for it, especially when you see they charity they afforded Messi / Ronaldive etc.

I remember WC 98 I thought England were cheated at the time, but Beckham was a red and Sheared elbowed the goalie for Campbell's goal.
The last time we were genuinely cheated was the Maradona handball. Everything since then has just been excuses after loses imo.

On a side note, it really angers me when you type Ronaldo in google, it only shows pics of the rapist and none of the goat.

Southgate never played the most in form creative English player.
James Maddison played 0 World Cup minutes despite having more goal contributions this season than Saka, Grealish, Foden etc.

Same with Vardy never getting a chance despite being a genuine big game player.

It's 4 years since Vardy retired from international football. The previous season he scored 23 goals, Harry Kane scored 41. Kane won the Golden Boot at the World Cup, after which Vardy retired. I think if Southgate dropped Kane for Vardy he should have been committed to an asylum for the completely bewildered.

Joking aside though, there were some pretty dubious decisions going on in both games, how many dodgy penalties did Messi get ?
I also thought France were lucky to have their 1st goal allowed and Kane not get a penalty................bitter, me !!!![]()
I'll bet you Jocks enjoyed it though ?

4 penalties, stat padding v Panama and claiming a Ruben Lotus Cheek goal as his own. What a legend.Mountain wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:31 pm It's 4 years since Vardy retired from international football. The previous season he scored 23 goals, Harry Kane scored 41. No goals in 2 Caraboa Cup finals, 1 Champions League final and 1 Euro final.

Not sure what the issue with Panama and Ruben Loftus Cheek are, but do they mean he hasn't scored 261 for Spurs and 53 for England?
If you are introducing games like CL finals and Euro finals, what's Vardy's record in them?
