It would be a good move for him. Big club with a lot of pressure and expectation, and no hiding place.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 7:58 pm Hearing Joffy on loan to Sunderland. Any confirmation?

Doesn't do us anything for our depth.
5 subs mean you should want a deep squad.

I can't see us spending this money with nothing coming in. It goes against everything we've heard all season. I'm thinking Meslier tbh.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:33 pm I was worried about a Dan James. Outgoing before incoming

Would be an able replacement if Meslier did move on don't think he would come if he was going to be no 2. Talk on this side of the irish sea always around whether he should stay at pool learning under Alison he's done enough of that or move on to get a 1st team chance somewhere.Pullhard wrote: Couple of Liverpool fans in work saying that Kelleher, their second keeper is looking to move on.
They rate him and have been impressed when he has come into the team.
Valued at £8m on TransferMarkt
Will be a good buy for whoever gets him.

Doesn't help our squad though which is hardly full of depthandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:40 pm Joffy needs to play. Clearly shows Rutter is rated much more highly
Wouldn't be so bad if we had everyone fully fit but Bamford is crocked and likely I'd assume will be for the rest of his career on and off.
And Sinisterra has had a nasty foot injury and no guarantee he will return fit and well.
I agree he needs to play but with the 5 sub rule he should get plenty of minutes (realise Jesse doesn't use him atm).

Re: January 2023 Transfers and Squad Discussion
I have no problem with JG being a supersub but 20-30 minutes not 5 minutes. It is almost like how in older versions of Championship Manager you bring a foreign player on with a couple of minutes left so he would play enough games to keep his work permit. It is like he is some sort of afterthought rather than a valued member of the squad.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed our interest in Moroccan World Cup star Azzadine Ounahi.
New reports from France say we have another midfield target on our list.
Lens Captain Seko Fofana.

Might be nothing in it of course (could be injured).
But Reported LUFC target Morroco World Cup star Azzadine Ounahi was not in the squad for Angers tonight as they lost to PSG.
Lionel Messi played and scored so seems unlikely he was given more time off for his World Cup exploits.

if we now have new LB/CB and striker we now only need new midfielder, remember Dallas will be fit soon and then we have enough to stay up. Hope we are also working hard to get rid of our dead wood
Leeds need a great summer 2026 with outgoings and incoming players

Fofana looks good on the showreel. Fits our narrow direct style well and is a good ball progresser. Also has a bit of a brick sh*t house look to him which is ideal for the physical nature of the PL.

New link from Italy.
Danish Lecce Captain midfielder Morten Hjelmand.
Primarily a defensive midfielder although has played further forward.
6ft1 so bit of height
Strange thing is Ounahi and him are very different players, imo we need both.

Re: January 2023 Transfers and Squad Discussion
Also Nicolo Zaniolo
As with all these they're best taken with a bucket, not pinch, of salt.... 30M seems a bit much for a player with half a season left on contract unless a bidding war ensuesLeeds United have reportedly found interest in AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, joining Newcastle United in the race for the Italian's signature.
With the 23-year-old's contract running out in the summer, it's believed that Jesse Marsch has taken a liking to Zaniolo according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
It's also mentioned that the Whites have enquired about his availiability and have been told he's worth between €35-40 million (£30-35m), a price tag that Leeds have proven they're not afraid of already this season after the signing of Georginio Rutter.

Zaniolo is absolute class and walks into our side.
Can play multiple attacking roles.
But we aren't spending £35mil on him (Sky Italy say that's what Roma want) and tons of richer clubs higher up the league are interested.
Still

Re: January 2023 Transfers and Squad Discussion
Just spent that on pure potential and Zaniolo will have resale value. The further we slip down the table the less chance we have of these type of signings. As with all other rumours though this looks very unlikely we're even looking at him.
