Would like to see Gyabi get more look ins. The Cardiff replay and today's game were perfectly set for him to get 30 minutes or so. The problem was, in both games, he'd just played in the reserves 2 days before. Making him an unlikely option. Wish they'd make more of an effort to get him involved.

Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Exactly. Putting Aaronson on was a waste of time. He looks like he needs a rest and would have been good for Gyabi to have some first team action. An opportunity lost.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 6:41 pm Would like to see Gyabi get more look ins. The Cardiff replay and today's game were perfectly set for him to get 30 minutes or so. Surely, an improvement to our midfield.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 3:02 pm So what do we think?
Not convinced because of his fitness, not sure he will provide the craft our midfield lacks.
But he has to be an improvement on Forshaw and Greenwood
Looks a strong combative player which we lack.
And hopefully he and Adams being close can help
Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Nor me too, Llorente & Firpo scare the living daylights out of me.mentalcase wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 5:17 pm No way I'd have firpo in the squad, who gave him licence to run around like a 12 yr old today, at one point he's centre forward ffs, yep he scored, good goal as well, then he gets megged for their goal, the guys hopeless.
First half he can't find a team-mate with a pass, good job it was accrington.
Good goal in the Accrington playground, today

I'm with you, couldn't believe Gyabi didn't get brought on. At 3-0up I would have brought Perkins on (I wouldn't have risked Rodrigo and given him a full breather) and also have brought Gyabi on as an extra midfielder to help us simply control possession and see out the game.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 6:41 pm Would like to see Gyabi get more look ins. Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Evening everyone, hope you’re doing well. Here’s a short video detailing everything you need to know about Weston McKennie and why he’s a perfect fit for Jesse Marsch’s system for those interested. In my eyes, he’s one of the most talented midfielders around and is only leaving Juventus because he doesn’t fit into Allegri’s philosophy (similar to Kulusevski, who’s been smashing it at Tottenham). As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts and am happy to answer any questions you may have. Cheers and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm not sure he is the central midfielder in the role Marsch plays him (and don't think Marsch is going to be anywhere near as adept as Bielsa was in converting players). Always saw him more as a no.10.

Says it all Leon.
A good CB played out of position cos we've nowt else.
We desperately need a LB and RB in the summer.
We're covered at LCB with Wober, Struijk and Hjelde.
RCB keep Koch, chase Llorente and get another RCB in with Cresswell as 3rd choice. Bonkers decision giving Llorente a new contract.
Out of our defenders I'd chase Ayling, Llorente, Cooper and Firpo. Kristensen too if we can bring in another RB or Drameh might be the back up.
That defence needs sorted big style.
Meslier should've done better with their goal too.

Would have been good not to see Jack Grealish (MKII) today.MightyWhites wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 6:47 pm Exactly. Putting Aaronson on was a waste of time. He looks like he needs a rest and would have been good for Gyabi to have some first team action. An opportunity lost.

Pascal gives us height at the back & is not inclined to go play centre-forward at any given moment.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 7:56 pm Says it all Leon.

This seems like such a sensible course of action, so why can’t one of our coaches think of it?andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 6:41 pm Would like to see Gyabi get more look ins. At 3-0 up I felt sure one of our two reserve goalies was going to get on .....billysboots wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 8:26 pm This seems like such a sensible course of action, so why can’t one of our coaches think of it?

Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
He does, but his lack of pace gets exploited at LB. We've been getting carved up on that wing for years.
We're also looking for our left back to overlap and he can't do that.
That's no sleight on Pascal, as he's doing the best he can when he should be at CB.
Ayling and Kristensen aren't good enough at right back either.
When we've addressed midfield and attack it seems crazy to me that we'd still be happy shipping goals for fun every week.
Ok, we can't sort it now but it needs major attention in the summer. And btw Stuart Dallas ain't the answer either.
Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
I'm not actually a fan of this. I get its a bargain since Juve is imploding, but I would still spend all this money to bring in another CB or LB. This is in part because I don't particularly rate McKennie (I'd be over the moon for Musah), but I still think the real need is at the back.
Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Ornstein is also now reporting loan and option to buy. Looks to be done now and available for Forest.
Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Gyabi is the one who needs the loan. He needs real football and u21s isn't comparable.
Re: Weston McKennie- HERE WE GO!!!!
Reviews are mixed from both Juve and USA fans.
Hint of the unprofessional about him apparently for one, doesn't take the best care of himself.
He looks a strong and niggly player which is nice.
Dont think he is going to bring the creative edge that the cm lacks though
And that is a lot of money we are spending on him.
