I can't shake my interest and attachment to the club overnight but likely won't post here as often as I planned to. It was a bit naive to join the forum in the first place and expect to be taken seriously...it's your club & community after all.
Anyway I guess my parting thoughts are simple: JM should've been sacked long ago. From an outsider looking in at his career, it was never as good a fit as he claimed and he should've recognized the problems (and his weaknesses) before accepting the job.
His legacy, if you can call it that, is mainly tied to signing Adams for you lot and will hopefully benefit the club in months ahead. I hope they remain in the Prem. I hope the squad uses this change as a spark to find their feet and get more results but I'm disappointed in the season so far.
It seems difficult to parse out exactly who bears responsibility for the self-inflicted issues they faced but Marsch had to go. Whether he thought the current squad was sufficient and could improve OR failed to convince the board to make additional changes...the failure now lies at his feet.
I also gotta admit that whether they'd turned it around under him or not, I'd grown tired of his pressers and interviews. Without real change nothing he said carried any weight or meaning.
Wish him the best in the future but might be wise to take a sabbatical again for a bit.

Inevitable outcome. Nice guy, s**t manager, should really have been canned at the WC break. Crucial choice by the board now, could define our future, the takeover, Niners big plans etc, have to get it right. Whether that's until season end or long term is immaterial to an extent, we are in the s**t now, we need someone to dig us out of that first and foremost.

The American was brought in as Marcelo Bielsa's successor, after he was sacked in February last year.
However, success comes at a price and ultimately the industry is no stranger to making ruthless decisions.
In the 2021-22 season, 10 managers departed their clubs, a sharp rise compared to the previous 2020-21 season, where only four managers parted company.
The average current tenure of a Premier League manager is two years and three days, with Jurgen Klopp the longest-serving manager at seven years and 121 days.
Klopp is closely followed by Pep Guardiola (six years, 220 days) and Brentford's Thomas Frank (four years, 113 days)
So will we see a familiar face return to Premier League management, or like Marsch, will we see a new face from the international stage?

You had to think that happened. All the indecision on deadline day pointed to a boardroom split. At Leicester having a medical. It was Orta that pulled the deal. Marsch was probably forced to play him on Sunday in order to make him happy and sign a contract.
Orta probably promised Harrison something when he blocked the Leicester move. Something like "you have a future at Leeds." "If you're not happy in the summer I'll let you leave on the cheap."

Probably because he's only been here a week. He had to know JM's job was in jeopardy when he signed. Could have put a clause in the contract for security. It would cost a lot to sack him so early. And maybe they just retain him out of common decency.

I remember 2 years ago in an interview. Bamford kept telling Harrison, "Get to the byline, whip in the crosses, I'll get a goal." That idea didn't exist under Marsch.
