Before this I hadn't passed on any round, but Prince would defo fall in the "few exceptions" where I just don't like the artist at all. I suspect the only other pass card I may play will be when we get to 'S' :duno: ;-)

Saw Prince at Wembley Arena in 1990. Incredible gig, he was amazing live.

Chilli, I also saw Prince at Wembley Arena in 1988 on the Lovesexy tour. Fantastic gig, best I've been to and the most talented artist I've seen live.

I also saw him in 1990 at Birmingham NEC, which as I remember was when the Batman LP was out. He did Batdance dressed as the Joker, and played Nothing Compares 2 U as one of the encores

Velo was also at both of those tours.

I saw him on the night England played West Germany in the World Cup semi final. There was an announcement that Prince would not start until the England match had finished because people were huddled around mini tv screens so he didn't come on stage until around 10pm. It was gone midnight when he finished. It was when the Batman LP was out.

Yeah, thought it was.

I'd never quite understood how great Prince was until I saw him live. Unbelievable mate, still have goosebumps thinking about that 88 gig, it was fookin amazing mate.

Same deal he kept everyone waiting for ages until he came on, but it was well worth the wait.

Went to see The Stones at Hampden a few days after we lost against the Krauts and was still in mourning. I'd be wearing my England shirt for a month before that, but didn't wear it in Glasgae

I'm not that daft.

Stones were great too. Jocks just slaughtered with drink, sure none of them remember that night at all.

One of my good mates reckons Prince is one of the best acts he has seen live, James.

Prince and The Who top the list for me as live acts. Very different, but both positively incandescent. Incredibly high level of musicianship and energy.
