Roca is far worse - offers absolutely nothing. McKennie is the only player in the middle of the pitch who actually tackles the opposition, in fact he is the only one who even puts in a challenge.

Absolutely

But the weird cult thing he has on Twitter gets on my nerves.

And his £31mil potential fee means more is expected of him than most

Roca looks like an £8mil player.

McKennie doesn't look like anything close to a £31mil one

It is baffling that twatter people are bigging up WM, saying he is bigger than the club etc when he is looking average to poor in the side. It is hardly like he is getting man of the match votes and people saying the team played poor but you could see WM has that touch of class about him. The turth is that he isn't standing out in any way in what is a team playing poorly.

Not aware of the Twitter thing.
But he is only on loan so no 31 million at this stage, unlike many others you have rightly pointed out.
Not sure who we have to replace Roca and Mckennie. Sad but true after 3 seasons in premiership

Facts. Thought McKennie was solid in the first half while Roca was already off the mark. I’ll rewatch him in the second half, but I saw a few passes of his that didn’t reach their intended destination after players gave up early on their runs.

It's hard to judge any player in a sea of shite.

Someone needs to injure Firpo in training or we're down.

Lol! Firpo’s performance has been shocking these past two games. We really lack fullback/wing backs that are a PL standard.

No, I hear ya, Kenny. The thing that is really noticeable is that they all lack recovery speed. They all consistently get skinned when they push up the pitch. And so many teams have backups at both positions that are better than ours.

It's the arrogance I don't like. If he's too good for us, fine, but go out and prove it then. Like Rapha did. The guy's just an overweight fraud with a huge ego. Firpo once played for Barcelona, that doesn't make him good either lol.

It doesn't help that his friend is on twitter saying he hopes we get relegated and McKennie is to good for us.

This weird cult on twitter get on my nerves.

But I genuinely wonder how much they understand about football?

"Weston played for Juventus who are a successful club so he's a great player".

No.

Weston played in Serie A, which is now considered the weakest of the elite European leagues.

It is slow, defensive, and therefore much easier to stand out because you have time to dally on the ball, run into acres of space, pick a pass under no pressure.

Last night was a case in point, he gets away with that in Italy, in England you get swarmed and dispossed.

McKennie isn't without talent I'm sure

But many far more talented players have come from Serie A or La Liga and found they simply can't handle it in the Prem

Hernan Crespo
Andriy Shevchenko
Saul Niguez
Juan Seba Veron
Paul Pogba
Gonzlo Higuain

These were world class players in there prime, far above McKennie talent wise, absolute stars in Italy or Spain.

In England? Footnotes, flops, totally unable to cope with the speed, intensity and competitive edge of the Premier League.

Thats the thing some on twitter don't seem to get.

McKennie wasn't a star in Italy let's get rid of that myth, he was a serviceable player.

But the difference between Italy and England has caught out far better players and far bigger names than McKennie

Not everyone can cope with the difference in speed especially

McKennie looks to be one of them

Without talent? Course not

But this superstar some think? Definitely not.

But he isn't helped by that mate of his on twitter winding up our fans.

Thing is blaming WM for the midfield malaise is like blaming Koch for the defensive one. What do we expect them to do exactly. It’s a group of individuals not a team. What the feck is Rutter anywhere near a pitch for ffs. And why are Summerville & Gnonto nowhere near it till the games over.
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Rutter needs to stay with the U-21s from here on out and a season long loan spell where he will play week in and week out.

I think you make some good points regarding style and speed of play in the Premier League compared to Italy or Spain. Those things are legit.

I think you lose me on that last bit. It's not fair to blame the player for what someone else says about LUFC on Twitter. You have no way of knowing who that person is or if they are even friends. You can only speculate.

Ordinarily I'd agree in your last point.

But this person is well known as McKennie's friend, post pictures of each other on social media a lot.

He's done podcast appearances based on his inside knowledge of the USMNT through McKennie

https://twitter.com/DiegoMendoza29_

Look at what he retweets and stuff.

Thus guy is definitely very close to McKennie.

That is going to subconsciously impact how our fans view Mckennie.

And thanks for the praise on my post :)
