Well you all listened to a bunch of irate Dutchman (are there any other kind) and screamed the walls down when we brought Schrueder over...
Why because we all think we know more than we do.
And I said so at the time.
And now we will never know.

Absolutely nothing about Schreuder's record suggested an improvement
Gracia actually has a better record as a manager
Neither were right

Re: Next Manager
Thing is Cjay is truth be told Leeds fans all jumped onto a single narrative being forwarded by the Ajax fanbase who were upset thet had lost Ten Haag.
Noone bothered to look stop and think, as is the nature of these things twitter fed hysteria fed into our frustration at a lack of progress on finding a replacement for Marsch and that fed into a growing distrust of the Leeds board.
They wilted under the noise.
Bowed to uninformed prejudice.
But what we didn't know was the true story of the Schrueder experiment because no-one bothered to stop and do any actual research.
What record could be referred to? He hadnt even been given a year.
Only your prejudice decides that neither were right. But Schruders ideas alighted a hell of a lot more with how our squad is built that Gracias

Re: Next Manager
Let’s play the game where we all pick the next Leeds manager. The trick is to pick a manager who we have absolutely no chance of attracting. Then when the club’s actual appointment fails - you can write a few messages about how X was the wrong choice, remember to emphasise that you had pointed this out previously and if only the board had appointed your choice all would have been rosy.
Whilst enjoying your “ I told you so glow” take advantage of your new forum kudos by suggesting a new game about what the squad needs for next season, be sure to get in first with a proven 20 a season goal scorer (name not required).

Not long ago ,post Marsch exit, there was rumblings on here, for Viera to take over (as if) and lauded for taking CP to the dizzy heights of mid table .Thereafter he couldn't win a game to save his life for months and was promptly sacked.

For Schreuder to have the level of haters from Ajax that he did he must have been pretty spectacularly bad.Irish Ian wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 5:23 pm Thing is Cjay is truth be told Leeds fans all jumped onto a single narrative being forwarded by the Ajax fanbase who were upset thet had lost Ten Haag.

Ex players spoke out against him as well (including Ajax legend Daley Blind).
We will never know how it would have gone Ian of course.
But there were definitely enough red flags.
Funnily enough Gracia is actually much closer to Marsch than Schreuder
If you go back abd look he has liked a narrow 4-4-2 formation (even using the old 4-2-2-2) with emphasis on getting it forward and press etc.
His tactical profile read like a Spanish Jesse Marsch.
Weirdly though he has done none of that here
So who knows.

Arteta has never failed at a club that historically its been almost impossible to fail at domestically . . .
Besides do you trust Orta's judgement?
I certainly don't and Schreuder was apparently his pick.

That's probably the most relevant point. Orta's judgement coupled with Schreuder's record.

Re: Next Manager
Did anyone really believe we could attract Bielsa? It isn't however all about getting some big name but getting someone in who can do something like Bielsa did. Thankfully we have a director of football that is in charge of that....DDB220 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 5:36 pm Let’s play the game where we all pick the next Leeds manager. Re: Next Manager
Me too, get him in and basically it is gives him 4 matches to judge what players he wants to keep for next season. If by some miracle he kept us up great but if not then it is early preparation for next season. I wouldn't have thought he'd be 'too big' to come to Leeds as a likely championship club as despite his success in Norway it would still be a huge step up for him.
For whatever reason something seems to have happened between Gracia and the players as it all seemed so positive until half time v Palace.

Mark Bower, Bradford PA manager. If we could pull it off, then Orta would most certainly be redeemed. I really can't see him leaving Park Avenue for Leeds tbh.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 5:36 pm Let’s play the game where we all pick the next Leeds manager.
