£70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
WHO agreed to pay Rutter £70,000 per week. Who would pay LUFC record transfer fee for a player with " lots of potential "
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

Why he hasn't been given a proper run our is beyond me. They persist with Bamford week in week out in the hope he'll come good but fails miserably every week. Give the young lad as much of a chance as they give bamford and I think you would see a different player.

£35m cost and 70k a week. And he can't even get in the team, that's because we are oozing class in every position.

It's because he is nowhere goid enough to start.
He is nowhere near the pace of the game.
Others deserve a chance before him
Having said this absolutely no fault of the player himself

Now is not the time to be trying to find out if he can cut it in the Prem, quite simple.
If he was looking like Messi in training i'm sure he'd be in by now.

Re: £70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
According to Kicker who were the 1st source for the Rutter deal and a very reliable German media source it's a lot more than £70k a week . . . . . .
It's actually just over £90k
Which makes sense because that puts him with Rodrigo on top earner status.
Hoffenheim signed him for £600k almost 2 years to the day before we did.
In those 2 years he scored 11 goals.
Which means each of those goals Orta decided was worth £3.1million
Madness when you think about it

If Rutter is any good, he is nowhere near the finished article yet.
Massive risk signing & not what was required in January.

Imagine what our current first-team squad are thinking who are earning less than Rutter?Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 6:25 pm According to Kicker who were the 1st source for the Rutter deal and a very reliable German media source it's a lot more than £70k a week . . . . . .

A signing that has summed up the club these past couple of years.
In January we needed a goal scorer.
In January we went big on a player who was not a regular goal scorer.
In January we had plenty of those already.

Baffling signing. Said so at the time. Ya me!
Alternatively we were never signing the fabled PL goalscorer... whatever one of them is..
I do recall Danny Ings name being bandied around.
WH have 2 goals in 12 for their 125k a week.
Back to Rutter though. I wonder if this signing was a 49ers sign off for the future.

Guilty as charged your honour, call me Victor
In my defence, he was around half the cost of Rutter and at least he’s scored 2.

The signing of Rutter & his huge salary makes no sense whatsoever!

Re: £70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
What worries me is that I have seen potential whatsoever.
Ok he has limited minutes but would have expected a memorable moment or two.
Has he playing in the U21s?

There has been the odd twist and turn here and there, but I’ve seen nothing really either.
Doesn’t help him not getting decent time on the pitch, of course.

Re: £70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
£35.5m for Rutter, 3 starts, 9 subbed appearances and no goals.
It is ridiculous really but is he going to shine for us in the Championship providing he has no relegation exit clause built in.
He was bought for the future as was Gnonto for 5m yet Gnonto has shown class and I think will be sold.

Re: £70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
I don't think he was bought in for the future! I just think our scouting is that bad that we realised that we have bought a complete dud! You don't spend £35m on an unproven player when you need a goalscorer and a left back whilst fighting to stay in the Premiership! Oh and unless you are Leeds United! I just think he is not good enough and we really messed up buying him...BradWhite wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 7:01 pm £35.5m for Rutter, 3 starts, 9 subbed appearances and no goals.

Re: £70,000 a WEEK for Rutter
Apparently they were both bought for future progress investments, we'll make money on Gnonto because he will go and they'll be a few after him but Rutter has not done anything close to suggest he is worth anywhere near his fee. Gnoto showed touches of class today, had we played him in the past games things may have been a little different.Victor_Notts-17 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 7:18 pm I don't think he was bought in for the future! Recruitment has been awful throughout and we need instant changes.
