Current top 10 on Skybet.

Carlos Corberan- 2/1
Steven Gerrard- 2/1
Scott Parker- 5-1
Brendan Rodgers- 8/1
Regis Le Bris- 8/1
Lee Bowyer- 10/1
Graham Potter- 12/1
Patrick Vieira- 16/1
Fabian Hurzeler- 20/1
Andoni Iraola- 25/1

Grim list by and large

Put in order I'd like erm.

Iraola
Potter
Rodgers
Le Bris

Then God knows after that from that list.

I've never heard of Fabian Hurzeler

Le Bris is a punt based on very little.

But I'd hate to be stuck with any of the others.

I've just read that Gerrard is more than likely to be going to Leicester. They're welcome to him. Like you I'd be more than happy with Iraola or Potter, but soon please!

What was the alternative? Try to play defensively with players who haven't been bought for that style? That's what we've attempted to do for the latter part of this season, and it's got us relegated.

The failure under Bielsa was due to the lack of recruitment the previous summer; likely a result of already having Marsch lined up as replacement.
Yes the alternative was to play more defensively, to be able to adapt our tactics to the given situation. Unfortunately our players only knew one way to play, no plan B, and that is why, five Managers later we are unable to defend properly and continue to get cut to ribbons with counter attacks. This is why the only answer going forward is to build a new team that can combine attacking football with defence, and be able to adopt different tactics against different opponents. It is true first season up we took the Premiership by surprise and won many fans with our style of play. Unfortunately we were sussed out the following season and had no answer to it.

In that case I'd suggest using a system that utilises the players we had available and, at the end what I was watching was the ball in the back of our net all too often. Mind you I still think that Bielsa was a magician and raised our players to levels they didn't believe possible. My favourite remains Don Revie though.
Ah it's the use the mythical formation that would have taken a team comprised of several players that weren't even starters in our championship side and suddenly beaten every team. It's ridiculous how many people still see it this way - when we were losing we had starting line-ups that would have struggled to compete for mid table in the championship. The likes of a half fit Forshaw, Shackleton, Roberts etc starting games. Players back from injury and having to play, Klich soldiering on with a hip injury etc. Yes we took some beatings but there was no magical formula to stop the beatings and yet despite all the problems we still were getting wins against West Ham and Burnley and coming from 3-1 down to draw with Villa.

Not what happens when you've been 'sussed out'. We simply didn't have the personnel to implement the system properly.

Anyone still blaming Bielsa after everything that's happened since probably didn't understand what they were watching tbh.

I would be quite happy with Tony mowbray, he did a good job with Sunderland this year, they weren't expected to get anywhere near promotion due to having a very young squad. Sunderland talked about sacking him days after losing in the playoffs and their fans kicked off saying it was an enjoyable season, we do have some good young talent give them their head I say with a manager that will play them

If the board would not back Bielsa after the 9th place finish why did he stay on . Not the type that would do so.
Knew he liked small squads so guess what happens when we got injuries...........
Perhaps he was happy with things in that Summer.
Guess we will never know.

Just read on my Google newsfeed that there's talk of Jesse Marsch being the ideal replacement for Postecoglou at Celtic. If that happens, that's them relegated.

Not relegated, it's still really only a one team league...

The list is looking poor, out of that I would go

Potter, Rodgers and Iraola in that order.

I thought Marsch with his high defensive line, pressing style got us relegated ? Now it's because we sat back and were too defensive apparently...

TonyT wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:16 am Over the past 60+ years I've been subjected to a variety of highs and lows supporting Leeds. I was at Priestfield in 2003 when we drew 1-1 and Harry Kewell was through on goal and didn't just put the ball over the bar, but skied it so high I feel sure that it caused a pilot on his approach to Gatwick to crap himself. Kewell simply laughed. I said to my son, A Gills supporter, that, with attitudes like that we've no hope. We ended up 19th that year and were relegated the following season. Like so many others I was delighted with the way that Bielsa got us playing and the effect he had on the whole organisation. I am surrounded by a mixture of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U, West Ham and Arsenal supporters and, to a man, when Bielsa was sacked, they said 'Sod it that's an easy three points and four goal improvement to our goals scored chances gone'. And even the most blinkered supporters have to admit that the result prior to Marsch being appointed were pretty crap. At the beginning of that season my son- in -law and my eldest grand-daughter's partner both said that Leeds would struggle because our style of play had been sussed out and they couldn't see that changing. How right they were. Marsch's appointment was hopeless and he should have been sacked at the World Cup break. As usual it appears that our board had no idea what to do. We've been badly let down and the hunt for a replacement for Marsch made us look pathetic. The ducks should have been lined up well before this. Yes I felt incredibly sad when Marcello Bielsa left, but realistically and in retrospect, it had to happen. Constant regurgitation of the past, whist it might make us feel better to say I told you so, doesn't alter the current situation. I just hope that we can have all the imponderables sorted out sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath. My idea is that good organisational mangement models always hope for the best but prepare for the worst, Something our board obviously doesn't agree with. To sum it up - Sort out the ownership issue - Get a DoF and then Get us a decent manager quickly. Some hopes!!
Yes they were crap, but there were good reasons for it as i pointed out at the time, did you not see or recognise them ? I also pointed out before those matches began that we were about to get trounced and to expect it.

I 100% categorically disagree, no it did not need to happen at all, and i also predicted this outcome if it did.

Some people just see things faster than the average Joe.

Only a fcking fool wanted Bert gone.

Simple as that.

Something was wrong when the players came back after their summer break following that 9th place finish. I wonder if after 3 seasons of intensive training and murderball, with a sergeant major type manager some players just couldn't face another season following their luxury 5 star holidays.

Their whole attitude had changed, and anyway, many of them had already secured their futures with long PL contracts. Maybe some were thinking ' oh no, I've got to put my body through all this for another season, and there will be no squad rotation. '

Absolutely spot on Sara.

Can you name me any team that performs the same without certain key players ?

Citeh have spent and have £Gazillions of dough, are they still the same without 3 of their key players ?

No one person is to blame

It's a collection of failures from multiple people.

Bad recruitment, bad forward planning, bad squad building etc.

No 1 person is responsible, but many are to varying degrees
I don't blame one single iota for anything at all, every single thing he did had meaning and method behind it.

He might've over trained them who knows none of us are or were privy to how fit or unfit they were it's all guesswork, especially from you.
