Not just because I have chosen a live album but rather than dubbed and re dubbed in the studio live albums are when bands are at their best . So I vote live albums should be included.

I agree Shaun, a lot of my favourite albums are live. Maybe Sara will start a new Live Album poll ?? Would be interesting to see if people’s tastes change when picking the live stuff.

Regarding live albums, I personally wouldn’t include soundtrack albums or EPs cobbled together as an album, but that’s just me.

If you take Rattle & Hum which is a soundtrack, live plus some original recordings out of the equation then The Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby is a good three album run.

Sgt. Pepper, White Album and Abbey Road is also good if you take out the soundtrack albums Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine.

I had those 3 U2 albums originally in my picks to get The Unforgetable Fire & The Joshua Tree in but after I removed Rattle & Hum I couldn’t bring myself to include Achtung Baby as I don’t rate it at all. Love the other 2 though.

That was the problem here . I rate The Raven as their outright best ever, followed by Black and White....Rattus is my third, better imo than NMH but this is a run so Rattus misses out as it's prior to those 3 ....in order I would say Rattus 3rd , NMH 4th , B&W 2nd and Raven 1st , see the dilemma ?
