Re: Ipswich Town v Leeds United Match Thread
I manage to get my TV stream back at half-time, so at least I saw 45 minutes of the game without intertuptions.
Now, I look forward to watching a replay of the full match tomorrow

Shackleton was also out of position but was immense. That's the difference between Jamie and Drameh imo - attitude and heart.Clitheroe White wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:13 pm A win is a win. Returning players made a difference. Piroe looks decent. Rutter getting some mojo. Shacks looking lovely. Gray good again. Amapadu solid.
Only black mark for me was dramah. For the record I’ve been one of the people calling for him to start. After today it’s dampened that view BUT he was playing out of position. Needs another chance. However suspect he’ll not react well to being subbed after 20 mins. More drama coming.

As ugly as it was at times, it does say something for our "fight" to be in an away game, against a team trending up, and to be on the back foot/taken out of our typically possession-based game.

Told you, Ipswich weren't all that good, we defended poorly for all three of their goals Offensively we have far much more quality than the tractor boys had to offer.

Not set us up totally different to how he usually does.
Counter attacking isnt his way, isnt defensively good enough as a coach for it hence why Ipswich got at us and had 20 shots.
Not pressing much with the highline meant Ipswich could get in over the top easily as they did many times
Glad we won
But stand by what i said
We need to go back to the possession based style

It's cental mid that is the most important area to strengthen imo. If Willi, Cry, Sini and Rutter stay then we should be easily good enough at the 10... I'd want someone to spell young Archie...

Agree! Our goals were much more earned or clinical, not to take anything away from their deep balls and timing.

If we can keep Gnonto, Sini, Summerville until January, at least, we should be right up there

Read my post prior to the game, I was adamant Shacks should have started, at 1-3 we definitely should have brought him on rather going gung-ho. Shacks was unlucky to lose his place, we cannot afford to have 3 on 2 situation in the middle of the park.

Yes! Looking at the bench during the game this was the biggest concern for me, especially given Gyabi's form has seemed way off the last few times he's played. But DF did opt for Gyabi over say Greenwood. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:26 pm It's cental mid that is the most important area to strengthen imo. Most of the goals we've conceded this season have been deflections, or confusion in the box

Re: Ipswich Town v Leeds United Match Thread
But Shack has had a decent amount of game time so far... Cody not playing for the 21's nor did he see the pitch much in pre season. Much easier to adapt if you have game time under your belt and you're confidence isn't low. Shack didn't really crack the Millwall team last season for whatever reason
